Evra accuses Suarez of racist remarks | Suarez guilty of racial abuse

Tim Vickery on BBC saying the theme of the comments on a Uruguayan newspaper site are "attacking pseudo moralism and hypocrisy of the english" on reading an article on the verdict.

Vickery also says that although he gives creedence to the cultural difference issue, the punishment is part of the education, so in a way faior enough, even taking into account the cultural difference.

feck the FA.
feck Evra.
feck Man Utd.
I love LFC. I love Suarez. He's innocent, and Evra's a prick. feck you Ferguson, you're gonna collapse right now, and we're gonna start winning everything, for Luis.
Lfc will win the title, and Luis will be player of the year.

looks like suarez likes some time off at christmas

the scumbag

I'm actually having trouble fathoming what a cnut this guy actually is.

The worst diver I have ever seen, leaves his foot in where he can, racist, feckin bites people and cheats by using his hands on the line and proclaims himself a hero for it.

feck me, the world is in some state when someone like this can be revered like he is by the Scousers

Just what I was saying:

I agree. Also, if the Police can get involved in the Terry-Ferdinand case - a case where nothing has been proven yet - what's to stop them from launching an investigation into this one?

Seriously, where do these 'fans' crawl out from.

I love the way they have to bring it round to Fergie, who has actually played an incredibly low-key part in all this.

If you talk to scousers, it's really, really funny how obsessed with him they are.

They've just done a section on this for BBC News at 10, usual BBC biased reporting. They had this chap from keep Racism out of sport, or whatever its called, for a few seconds, whilst the rest of the story seemed to be all poor Liverpool.

They did make the point that Terry is surely in deep shit now though...

Could well be you're right, that whatevra Evra did or say has nothing to do with the case in question, but my point was that in the public eye, he too will walk away from this case with his name smeared.

Maybe so but you cant discredit Evra for his conduct after the ordeal. He's just got on with it. It's irrelevant saying he's a saint or not. Some of our fans dont even see SAF as a saint. On our side, we've handled things well and let the FA handle it as Liverpool should have done. Now they've dug themselves in an even bigger hole.

Dalglish took a risk in defending Suárez so vigorously and so frequently in the 10 weeks since the controversy erupted. The speed and the extent to which Liverpool categorically denied the accusation also surprised and the focus will now be on the club's response to a guilty verdict that transcends the loss of one valuable player to a team. Liverpool, their manager and owners, are active supporters of anti‑racism initiatives and it will sit badly with John W Henry and the Fenway Sports Group in Boston to have a player of Suárez's profile found guilty of racist abuse.

Repercussions of Suárez case could be far-reaching for Liverpool | The Guardian

The very worst thing about all this for me, is the way the club have "officially" sanctioned the vilification of Evra, which is disgraceful, completely unprofessional and irresponsible. This case was always based on the idea of a misunderstanding. No one genuinely believes Evra made it all up vindictively.

Rather than just supporting their player, they've attacked the person doing the accusing, both at a stroke undermining the accusation of racial abuse (which might make others who are abused think twice about speaking out) and fanning the flames of not just their own most militant fans, but United's in defence, turning this concretely into a "take sides club war"....

Really awful bit of ill thought out victim mentality bollocks IMO. And I've never gone in for the "scousers are mawkish victim complex riddled mentalists" schtick (and I still don't) but this really is an awful and irresponsible thing to come "officially" out of a club.

Exactly. If we had a player like that, the scousers would have the firing squad ready for him.

And I think they should. For the same principle that Rooney was banned for two games (public figures should act with decency because they influence as role models blah blah), Suarez surely should be made example as well? You don't have to look far, he already turned a large portion of Liverpool fans into quasi-racist by supporting his act. So charging him with criminal offense surely would serve as a statement to those deluded sheeps (racism is bad)?

wow, so this ish was being taken this seriously? I thought they were just going to warn him. 8 games? I will like to see the evidence they had or what the ref said. This now has my full attention. I hope they had something concrete because of the precedence this set.

I feel a big part of it is that suarez admitted to using the word. This makes liverpool's statement even more strange.

Terry's screwed big and proper.

What's the progress with that case?

I'm pleased for Evra that he's been proved not to be lying, but it's sad to see Liverpool react this way and sad that the incident ever happened in the first place.

As others have already said, I always had more respect for Liverpool than some of our other rivals, because in some ways they are quite similar to us and are not just another 'sugar daddy' club. But they've behaved really badly throughout this, perhaps badly advised, disappointing from Dalglish in particular who I thought might handle this with a bit more grace and maturity.

As I said earlier, it seems RAWK actually is not just a fair representation of Liverpool fans, but also the entire club including the boardroom.

Parasites.

I think that is taking it a bit too far. Liverpool seem to have a large group of horrible fans who are blind to all that happens, but I'm sure there are plenty of knowledgeable Liverpool fans out there as well, somewhere. Even if there aren't many, there are some.

True. But, by God, episodes like this make you lose faith in the club as a whole.

Man, is this what it has come to? Kenny should be disappointed in the player not the result. They seem so terrified that he would feck off if they even dared to critique him in any way over his part in this fiasco.

Pandering and protecting based on his word. At the start of this he had done nothing wrong then it changed to well he did something wrong in the European context of racism but back in Uruguay it is completely acceptable.

They honestly believed that this was an acceptable defence. I hope he fecks off in the summer..........because that is the real fear amongst Liverpool fans but hey, they'll have ready made excuses for when the inevitable does happen.

As oppose to a granny-shagging, whore-riding cheater, or somebody who rode their brothers wife for ten years?

I agree Suarez is an arsehole but lets be consistent here :).

It's as if Kenny Daglish is running the whole club. If Liverpool's owners have let their manager and club act in this way...then it's truly shocking. We're not talking about Stalybridge Celtic..but one of the biggest clubs in the world....with such a diverse fanbase.

I must have missed the match in which all that happened.

I agree.

We play up their fans throwing poo etc, but we all know full-well that incidents like that are a small minority.

Most Liverpool fans you meet tend to be deluded whingers, but essentially decent people. It's very sad to see so many on Twitter, and pretty much a unanimous voice on their biggest forum, casting their principles aside like this.

I've got about 3 dippers who I'd count as genuine friends, as opposed to acquaintances. I'm avoiding talking to them about this in case they take the official club line, and I lose respect for them / end up calling them out on it and screwing up a friendship.

It was more a dig at the board, but reactions across a number of liverpool boards isn't good. I'm really beginning to believe the majority of them are like it, but it's hardly surprising going by their own manager and his statements (including his pathetic twitter earlier) and the club's official stance.
