Newcastle United vs. Manchester United

I'd have liked Rafael and Welbeck to be playing but at least we have a more orthodox line yup today in defense and midfield.

Fergie

These last couple of weeks have been fantastic. Football on nearly every single day.

Yep. Love it around this time of year for football.

Guess its good Lindegaard is starting as his record I guess deserves it but not sure what it does for De Gea's confidence. Either way, its a good team and hoping for an excellent performance. I do wonder why Valencia is at right back and not Rafael

Fergie's in a good mood.

I hope we don't run into super Krul tonight.

I feel confidence.

Team is ok but I suspect it will be a huff and puff display.

Both Nani and Park cut inside too much.
They will cramp the forwards for room.
I think Berba plays better without Rooney.
Giggs will attempt too many risky passes.

Ferguson addressed the keeper situation pretty calmly. Mentions he made a couple mistakes and Lindegaard has more experience. Settles that.

I'm pleased with our team tonight. Considering the injury problems we have, that's probably one of the best we could have put out there.

I'm not sure about dropping De Gea for Lindegaard. I know De Gea made an error at the weekend, but it doesn't help him at all by dropping him. Sir Alex needs to make a decision regarding our number 1 goalkeeper, and stick with it.

Our defence does look a lot stronger, and I'm not surprised. Newcastle have a physical frontline, so we need players in there who can cope with that physicality. Putting someone like Carrick at centre back was not an option tonight, for me.

(I don't mean any disrespect to our great manager with that previous comment, was just doing a funny)

Difficult for Fergie to drop DDG because we've spent a lot on him and also difficult to drop Lindegaard knowing he's been playing better.

Does any thing Fergie regrets buying DDG knowing Lindegaard looks on sound this year?

He keeps a clean sheet and plays a blinder tonight, does Fergie keep him in the team for Sundays game?

De Gea had a nightmare last time vs City. Not his fault but it might be in the back of his mind. Would be a good test for Lindegaard to show he can handle big games.

Has SAF lost all confidence with Rafael at RB? Whats the goss on that?

Like our line up, plenty of legs in Jones, Park, Valenca, Nani & Rooney and the flair from BerbaToon and Riggsy.

Think it will be a tight first 30 mins but we will run out 1-3 winners and comfortably in the end.

Fully expect BerbaToon to carry on his scoring spree.

Not really. If he wants to be a top keeper he has to have the mental toughness to overcome stuff like this, its just made out to be a huge issue by the pointless media.

He will be fine, its boring to talk about it.

i wish I was a pundit. I would say so much more original and insightful stuff.

Stan Collymore started to read that out as a line up on TalkSport and then stopped and said "No, that can't be right..."

Not at all. 2 good youngish goalies is better than 1;) One looks like a more solid option atm but in footy things change quickly.

Think it's only because of Valencia's great form

I can see your point , I just think if you fall of the horse get back on straight away get on with it.

Doubt it but guess he is real tired of Fabio and Rafael hobbling off injured in almost every game.

I don't think he will regret buying De Gea at all, even though Lindegaard has been better than we expected him to be.

While Lindegaard is undoubtedly a good goalkeeper, I don't think he has the potential to go on and be one of the very best in the world. With De Gea though, he definitely has the potential to be one of the best around.

Is very difficult to keep 2 excellent keepers. It's like keeping Messi on the bench and Ronaldo in the first 11. Never works out and one will eventually leave. That's speaking theoretically if both turn out a success.
