Newcastle United vs. Manchester United

Thought Nani might have been rested. He's played every game over the Christmas period.

Good on Jesse. Other clubs wouldn't have looked at him due to his size.

What's this?

Two central midfielders starting in central midfield?
Two centerbacks starting at centerback?

How odd.

United can't afford to rest Rooney and Nani. Just look at what happened vs Blackburn without Rooney. With Vidic out United need those two playing every game to keep up with City.

Bloodzeed replaying Ji's goal from the other night :D

I love Martin Tyler.

Put simply, we need Rooney and Nani to perform tonight. If we get them doing the business in unison - something that doesn't always happen - then we'll definitely get the win. They've both been inconsistent this season.

It's weird that rarely happens. Same thing with Ronaldo and Rooney when Ronaldo were at the club. When those two turned up in the same game United utterly destroyed teams.

Where is Cleverley by the way? I thought Newcastle was his return?

Might be back in contention for the Bolton game on 14th, I'd say 50-50 on that one, otherwise the game after that. Safest bet is beginning of February.

According to Fergie's press conference from last week he is "nowhere near returning".

Who the feck is this Lingard fella? Number 53...

Was there anyone else available instead of Valencia at RB?

Lindegaard in, doesn't really say much but the ABU papers will see it as dropped for DDG.

Yep. It's frustrating to say the least.

If they were at their best at the same time for the majority of the time, we'd rip this league apart.

These last couple of weeks have been fantastic. Football on nearly every single day.

Imagine Lindegaard on twitter if he keeps another clean sheet.

Well De Gea has been dropped since he isn't playing. Big test for Anders tonight, If he performs well it might become difficult for Fergie to put him on the bench.

Some of them are running with "dropped to build confidence and physique".

Youth cup winner from last year. Good tidy player. I'm very suprised to see him on bench but if saf believes in him then he got to try him. He plays on the wing but wouldn't say he's a conventional winger, comes off wing and gets involved with play in middle

He is dropped but I guess they will just make a hoo ha about it. He'll probably be back for the City game.
