Newcastle United vs. Manchester United

We're being overrun in midfield. Giggs looks like he's struggling, Rooney is playing like cack, and Berbatov doesn't even seem to be on the pitch. Is he?

Newcastle clearly the better side in all parts of the pitch this half.

We need a fergie Special at HT.

Rooney's touch ohh god!

just been to pick my wife up from work and had talksport on , was the goal that good?
You would of though Ba had scored the best goal ever scored.
I cant put into words how much I hate Collymore :mad:

It was a very good goal. But Collymore can make a tap in sound sound world class.

Great goal by Ba. Nani just hasn't got in the game and what's with these long balls we are playing.......much rather prefer some zippy short ball passing. Giggs hasn't got going as well. Team needs a bit of a kick up the backside in the dressing room or a change of tactic.

55%-45% in terms of possession in barcodes favor. They are domination all over, yet we still seems to be fine without midfield.

I think he's been creating more than our other midfielders. There was that tricky pass that nearly got to Berbatov at the start, while he's slotted through one or two other decent balls as well. For me, if we're going to cut through the Newcastle defence, we need to keep on Giggs for the time being.

A couple of gems amidst a mountain of shit isn't enough though. His passing has been sloppy or the most part.

Apart from a 10 min spell we've been very disappointing. Nani, Park, Berba & Rooney have been poor.

Get Welbeck or Hernandez on to inject some pace/urgency into the side, the attacks have been too slow too often. Also, Rafael to play at RB & Valencia at RM might be a good idea.

Newcastle have played very well.

Looked better with Jones in MF, but I don't know who's going to play CB. Don't think Giggs has been at his best either, been giving to many passes away.

Massively disappointed with Rooney's response tonight. I hope he picks it up. It's incredibly frustrating to see such a talented player be riddled with inconsistency.

Your right, sorry, but ba just scored while i was typing that.

Its not the same situation...just a similar thing.

2 players tangling in the box can go either way. Depends on what mood the referee is in.

Apology accepted. :)

I don't think it was the same though, for the reasons mentioned. Skrtel clipped Toure's heel while Rio and Ba's legs actually got proper tangled, as they both reached for the ball. It could've gone either way yeah, but I think calling nothing was the correct thing to do, as that's usually what's done when it's not a clear situation. Would probably have been a free kick for Newcastle had it been outside the area.

Just not sharp enough at the moment. Some touches and passes are too loose in this half. Park is all over the shop, we dont really have a good shape.

Newcastle deserve their lead for sure.

Rooney looks like he's getting hot around the collar. I hope to feck he cools it a bit and starts to put his energy into his performance rather than shouting obscenities at the feckin ref

Giggs has been very poor. Rooney has been very poor. Rio has been very poor. Everyone else quite poor. No one is save from being subbed atm.

Haven't done enough so far. We've been quite poor at getting service to the strikers. Nani, Park, Rooney and Berbatov in particular need to step up. They are giving us a hard time out there.

I saw this coming from the teamsheet and I posted my thoughts then. Nani + Park means no width all compressed play and Berba isolated. Giggs has done good at times but he would do better keeping possession more.

Rooney's a bottler.

Anytime he fecks up he goes to shit for 3 months.

What a fecking prick he is, all for a fecking night out.

Feisty game, played at 200 mph but very little quality from either side, apart from Ba's brilliant finish. Newcastle clearly the better team though, in every area of the pitch.

We need more quality from those on the pitch. Rooney, Nani, Berbatov, Park - all between invisible and awful.
