Manchester United vs. Bolton Wanderers

Not playing De Gea for the second game running is a mistake...

Going to be another Howard & Caroll situation with neither keeper being 100% sure the manager trusts them.

Lindegaard is a decent keeper, but surely De Gea is the future and should be allowed to claim that #1 spot back.

De Gea is the future. And that's when he'll be our regular no.1

Scholes starting is a bit worrying given his legs were already pretty gone last season. A 6 month absence from football probably won't have helped. But giggs and jones needed a rest and I guess if ando had a knock then it makes sense. Good to see us keep with the front four though. Good to see fabio back hopefully if the games going well we can get evra a rest and carrick plus one of the wingers. But then I can't see scholes playing the 90 unless Bolton just give up.

What are you talking about? Scholes looked at his best early last season because he didn't have a massive off season. He's now had 7 months off. I'll hold judgement for a while. I reckon he'll give us 2-3 really good months again before his legs start to go.

He won't be playing beyond this season and I hope alot of people don't get their hopes up. I don't think Ryan will be either.

Would appreciate any streams PMd. Preferably Veetle but any browser stream will be fine.

Thanks in advance.

so has Fergie made up his mind and gave Adreas a run of games so we have an established no 1? or is tactical? any big, strong lads in that Bolton side?

We've got a tough run of games coming up:

22 Jan - Arsenal v Man Utd - BPL
28 Jan - Liverpool v Man Utd - FAC
31 Jan - Man Utd v Stoke - BPL
5 Feb - Chelsea v Man Utd - BPL
11 Feb - Man Utd v Liverpool - BPL

For the best to have some consistency for now than keep rotating and as Lindegaard has played the last few matches and on the whole played well (bar the match against City), Fergie's decided to stick with him for now. The constant rotation was our problem at the beginning of the season and keeping the same keeper in goal for a run of games will benefit us.

CONFIRMED MUFC TEAM:

Lindegaard

Rafael
Ferdinand
Evans
Evra

Valencia
Carrick
Scholes
Nani

Rooney
Welbeck

SUBS: de Gea, Fabio, Pogba, Giggs, Park, Hernandez, Berbatov.

No DDG in goal , he should be the first choice.
But I like the team should be good enough to finish the job.
Even with the way Bolton are struggling , this will be a tough game they always are against Bolton.

Hmmm I think there's a big difference from having a summer break and a preseason to having a complete break from football and then coming straight in. Who knows maybe he'll be alright but he's still a bisk risk. There's no denying by the time the season ended he was a bit of a liability as a starter, and his presence put pressure on the others who had to do extra work covering for him. I'm glad scholes is back but I didn't think he'd be starting, at least not so soon. I'm not saying he shouldn't as I've not seen how he's doing in training, but given last season, the fact he's hardly played any football I think it's a risk.

As for giggs he and fergie have been talking about him getting another contract and I fully expect him to. He's showed no signs of physical decline.

It really is. Then after those we have the two games against Ajax, and then two aways against Norwich and Spurs.

win both of the home games and draw both of the away games , I would be happy , but I think we could nick one of the away games.

Scholes and Carrick together again. This brings back good memories. Otherwise the team looks full of in-form players which should ensure they play well.

Hope we can afford to give Pogba some minutes today. But that all depends on the result of course.

Glad Scholes is starting.

Will be good for his confidence. And it's weird saying that since he never really had confidence issues in his time as a United player(to my memory), and always looked like he just glides over the pitch, with supreme calmness, but in the City game it seemed he wasn't quite there, yet.

Maybe I was worried about the result more than anything else.

Anyhow, I reckon one midfield marshaling of Bolton and we'll get the old Paul Sholes back for the rest of the season. By 'old' I mean Scholes from last season of course.

Didn't want to see Scholes starting games just yet if at all, bit worrying. Still Giggs needs a rest and Bolton don't have much pace, he should cope.

It'd be nice to see Scholes landing one on Davies nice and early for his boy Cleverley.

BPL! BPL! What is this, bigsoccer.com?

Get it together Damo
