Hopefully we will rest a couple of players and give chances to Pogba so our players will be well rested for the trip to Norwich, who will not by any chance be easy opponents.

Team should be...

GK: De Gea

RB: Jones
CB: Smalling
CB: Evans
LB: Evra

RM: Nani
CM: Carrick
CM: Cleverley
CM: Pogba
LM: Young

CF: Berbatov

Subs: Amos, Rafael, Fabio, Scholes, Welbeck, Rooney, Hernandez

de Gea

Jones
Smalling
Evans
Evra

Nani
Carrick
Cleverley
Young

Berbatov
Welbeck

SUBS: Amos, Rafael, Fabio, Giggs, Park, Scholes, Rooney.

We should ensure Carrick gets a good half hour's rest though I reckon, start with him to get the job done and then put Scholes or Giggs on perhaps.

De Gea

Fabio-----------Smalling------------Evans----------Evra

Pogba---------------Jones

Park-------------Cleverley-----------Giggs

Berbatov

Gar you lot in regards to the FA Cup are as bad as everyone else

Amos
Fábio Smalling Jones Fryers
Pogba Cleverley
Nani Young Park
Berbatov
--
de Gea; Rafael, Evans; Carrick, Giggs; Welbeck, Hernández

Liking the look of something like that, provided Berbatov and Giggs are back. We'll probably go a lot stronger but I'd like to see a lot of the players I expect to start against Norwich rested if possible seeing as we have a two goal lead going into this match.

(de Gea; Rafael, Ferdinand, Evans, Evra; Valencia, Carrick, Scholes; Rooney, Welbeck to play against Norwich, with one of our other wingers in as well).

After seeing the way the Amsterdam Arena was rocking last night it's be great to get a full house for the return leg. When we first got drawn in the Europa league I decided to book a holiday next week. After last nights atmosphere I'm regretting that. The Europa league may be small time but some of the teams on it eg. Ajax are big. I'm actually quite pleased to be in it now for the first time. I can see us winning this.

Code:
                      De Gea

Rafael Smalling Evans Fabio

Nani Cleverley Scholes Jones Young

                     Berbatov

SUBS:
Amos, Evra, Ferdinand, Pogba, Park, Welbeck, Hernandez

Bring in Evra, Ferdinand, Welbeck, Carrick, Rooney, Giggs against Norwich.

Well, we are more or less in the next round. Rest players for the forthcoming PL matches. And give some young players some valuable time in the match, and give some minutes to those just returned from injury (Cleverley, Jones, Smalling, Young etc)

Amos

Fabio - Jones - Smalling - Fryers

Nani - Pogba - Cleverley - Young

Hernandez - Berbatov

Subs: De Gea, M. Keane, Evans, Lingard, Park, Petrucci, W. Keane.

I'd give De Gea as many games as possible for confidence. Fabio should get another go at left back. Pogba and Cleverley together might not be a good idea from the start. Maybe keep Carrick - Cleverley to give what could be our first choice pairing more minutes together, then bring Pogba on early in the second half for Carrick. Berbatov to start is a god idea though.

A full house would be excellent , but cant see it happening .
40'000 will be the tops I think.

I can see us winning it too.........by beating City in the final

Are tickets available for the 2nd leg? Wonder if I should pop over for a match..

don't think Fergie will take the chance Ian. Think he will play close to his best team and take off the likes of Rooney. Giggs wont play for one. And I certainly expect DDG in goal. Those guys do shoot well from distance.

It's so hard to predict what Fergie is going to do these days because he seems to enjoy throwing a swerve in and surprising us all. Remember when he put a second string out against Schalke after winning the first leg 0-2?

I'd gamble and rest the first team for Sunday personally, Ajax were a pretty weak side in the first leg.

I think Fergie will play a 2nd string side too but it definitely won't be as inexperienced as the side you just named!

I'm expecting a young midfield out there on Thursday.

Will probably have solid subs bench just incase.

1-0 scrappy game in store me thinks.

Considering the players have had a week off, I would expect Fergie to throw in some first team players to get their groove again, alongside those who need some match fitness.

------------De Gea----------------
Jones-----Rio---Evans-----Fabio----
Nani-----Carrick---Cleverley--Young
--------Welbeck---Rooney-------

Scholes, Hernandez and Smalling to get some match time as well? I'd like to see Pogba get some time though.

That central midfield pairing is almost arousing, isnt it?

I can't see us fielding a backup squad for this. Our young players should have no problem playing here and at Norwich at the weekend. Id imagine players like Ferdinand, Giggs, Scholes to only play one of the two matches depending on Ferguson's approach to each game.

I image that we'll give some of our first team players a rest. We won't exactly change the whole team, but it would be silly to risk key players getting injured when we already have a two-goal advantage.

I feel a right idiot now. Thinking it was 'just' the Europa league I booked my anniversary (its this weekend) getaway to start Thursday. Had I known I'd end up feeling so positively about the Europa league I'd have definitely gone to Old Trafford. Teach me to turn my nose up at European football, eh?
