Blackburn Rovers v Manchester Utd

Or, have a bit of faith in one of the greatest legends ever to play for the club, who in fact came on and gave us a real spark.

Sorry but his season has been filled with too many poor passes for me. Perhaps I am being overly negative but I just don't think he should be getting as many minutes as he does, especially not at the cost of Scholes.

David De Gea looks likes he's delighted, fair play to him.

I said at half time that I thought we were playing really well and needed to show some patience. And that is exactly what we did. People criticized the tactics but I think we got it spot on. This was always going to be a very difficult game but we completely dominated from start to finish.

At this stage of the season, in these circumstances, this performance was nothing short of sensational. Championship winning stuff.

This is why Fergie is the master.

I still believe Fergie got the tactics wrong most of the game it felt like he set the team up for a draw. It was after Giggs and Young came on and offered width United finally got some real pressure on Blackburn and some urgency in their game.

Well done lads. A hard bit of work but in the end the 3 points matter and that's what we got.

One moment of magic from Tony V, a great DDG and 3 good subs secured our win today.

So let's hope we can keep at least those 5 points until we play City which would probably take some pressure off us for that game.

Our away support today made me decide I'm going back to Manchester before season end.

No. We're on 49, they're on 50.

We still need to be ahead by a few goals though for us to be ahead in goal difference, because if it goes down to that, we'll need to draw or lose a couple of game (with City winning), which will worsen our goal difference anyway..

Obviously though, now we hope it won't go down to goal difference anyway.

Very harsh summation of them. You surely can't expect them to go toe to toe with us? We'd have hammered them. They've defended very, very well... and looked a decent threat on the counter attack and at set plays. It's a superb victory for us over a solid outfit.

73-27% possession.
'Competitive' cannot mean parking the bus at home seeing little of the ball and managing a few counters that amounted to not very much bar the 3 on target at the end of the half.

They came for one thing to deny us from goal and hopefully nick one and they didn't get that. It's hardly commendable.

More teams should stand toe to toe with is. They might beat us a few times.
(But I get what you mean, they're hardly in that position on form/paper).

I think he's been largely brilliant, yet again, this season

They also created some very decent openings in that second half as well. They were a width of the ball from having a goal allowed, and Rio made a class interception to prevent Yakubu having a tap in.

According the BBC stats, we had 14 shots to their 11 and 6 on target a peice. So they did pose some form of threat to us... and they posed it in the best way they could - on the counter attack and from set-plays. I don't think there is anything wrong with that approach when you're playing a superior team.

I disagree with this.

What did you want them to do, commit men forward and get obliterated on the counter? You have to play to your strengths.

How would we line up against Barca? Of course we'd play defensively because if you try to play them at their own game you'd get destroyed.

It's not being negative, it's just common sense.

I just noticed how Rooney fell over Robinson with his arms up in the air just after Valencia scored
