Champions League Quarter-finals (second leg)

Enjoyed this comment from the guardian website

"Benfica is actually playing OK especially considering they're missing all four of their centrebacks and playing a left back and a midfielder in the centre of their defense," warbles Alan Gomes. "But they're falling into the bad habits of the Portuguese league - questioning every call that goes against them, constantly badgering the ref. In Portugal, referees are easily intimidated by big clubs and allow their players all sorts of petulant behavior; that doesn't apply to Champions League refs, but Benfica players seem to be oblivious of that. Hence they're getting frustrated and sloppy - and they got that needless red card." Well yes, they are playing OK insofar as they are havin a lot of possession but in the words of the great rhetorician Sam of Allardyce: "Outpassing teams and then losing - is that the West Ham way?"

Mourinho said he knows there will not be a Chelsea v Real Madrid final. Implying the referees and the people above (UEFA) won't allow it. So Barcelona v Real or Bayern...

Interviewer: "What's you answer to Ibra who said that now he understand why you get mad at Camp Nou?"

Mourinho: "Only now he understand?!?"

every time Mourinho opens his mouth the though of him becoming a United manager makes me want to throw up

what a classless fool - absolutely no dignity

Mourinho needs to shut the hell up. Hope Bayern end Madrid's chances, then again would be even funnier to see Barcelona humiliate him again in the final if they make it.

Ibrahimovic said that?
Ibrahimovic said yesterday:
They are the best team in the world but at 1-1 and, playing with intelligence, you can do something. [But] I understand better why Mourinho gets upset every time he plays here – in my opinion it was not fair.

Hence why Mourinho responded tonight. And he won't get a fine or warning from UEFA for this.

Bit of a loose cannon ain't he.
I'm not even sure loose cannon is the right term - he goes out of his way to be a dick to try and influence results and decisions

it never seems to work and he comes out looking like a tit

I'm dreading Fergie going - he manages with class - starting to really come round to idea of someone like Solskjaer taking over

He denied in the same interview he will be joining Citeh but said he said (again) he wants to return to the Premier League. I hope it's not United. :nervous:

He went actually a bit further..

"The game is not about the man in green. It's a shame. I couldn't believe he called a penalty when the ball wasn't in play."

"It seems like Uefa wants a certain two teams in the Champions League final. Now I understand how Mourinho feels every time he comes to Camp Nou."

They asked him if it he'd like to see Real vs Chelsea final.

He said, "It wont be Madrid vs Chelsea, and I think you know why"

Hes not half bitter is he

I didnt actually hear it myself but my brother tells me thats what was said.

Bitter? Maybe that was a compliment to Barca?

The Catalans are going to feck Chelsea in every orifice, including some they didn't know they had.

There is no way that's going to happen.. I still say Chelsea are a tough matchup for Barcelona. They are physical and defensive.. Barcelona don't do well against such teams..

I wonder what he would have said had Barcelona got Apoel in the draw..
