Manchester United v Aston Villa

Rooney should have done a lot better there. Great chance.

lets not castigate rooney, he's scored some really important goals this this half of the season to get us in this position and when we get a penalty, then nine times out of ten he puts it away. Its weird...every time Ferguson in praises him in the press saying things like "well...Wayne is on a run now, lets hope it continues"....he then has a dry period. I've noticed this...

I love rafael taking throws, he hops up the line an extra 20 feet from where the throw should be taken

The commentary teams made me mad sometimes.

Yes, Young's penalty was contentious, but only that, it still had strong grounds for being a penalty. The defender made contact, however slight, that misbalanced Yound inside the penalty box. That Young perhaps overacted is a moot point. And yet the commentators mentioned it every time Young touched the ball for the rest of the half.

Now the Villa player CLEARLY handballs ins doe the penalty box, as clear a penalty as ever and the ref does not see it properly. I don't mind so much the ref not seeing it, though how and his linesman can have missed it is pretty incompetent. But as we see, these things do even themselves out. But you can bet you last dollar the commentators will not mention it again this season.

And so continue to perpetuate the sense that we have more 'lucky' decisions go in our favor than very bad, unfair decisions go against us. Its the fact that we deal with these injustices better than most teams as we invariably create more chances and so eventually win despite the wrong decisions. Its complete bollox.
