Tbh arsenal have just as much chance as us.

He has specifically said he wants first team football wherever he goes, and that isnt something we can offer every week realistically.

He would be first pick with rvp over at arsenal, and they could pay him a decent wage too.

CL football also.

We won't be buying him to not offer first team football every week - if he's not good enough to be first choice, we wouldn't be interested for the amount of moolah he'd cost.

Arsenal would be unlikely to compete with us on wages, and haven't won anything in a long time. We'd surely be favourites.

He's got as much chance of playing with us as he has with Arsenal + with United he will have a realistic chance of winning important honors.

The only issue is whether Hazard wants to stick to the position which made him great in the first place. We've got some decent talent on the left flank. However there's virtually no competition in the AMC role.

I cant see us using a "amc" role.

Rooney and welbeck are the first team strikers, and i cant see fergie kicking danny out for hazard.

Rooney lacks the outright pace to be a leading line striker, and personally i dont think he is as effective like that anyway.

So its back down to the 4 wingers, nani, young, valencia, and hazard.

I can deal with that, but can he?

(p.s i didnt include park because hes hardly a winger anymore, and a gonner soon i think)

Is it just me - or is there anyone else who has a problem with players "who wants to play first-team football".

Doesn't this just show that they lack a lot of self-confidence. How many players in our team would have demands like that ? They are so confident that the idea of them considering not being in the first-team is ridiculous. Take a player like Nani - he probably thinks he is the best player in the world and wouldn't need guarantees that he was a first team regular - he would probably take it for granted.

No way.

That's a big 'if' as to whether they will qualify. Most likely not I think.

He will be paid 2-3 times more at City, double at United or Arse.

Spurs don't compete on wages with the CL teams. Not even close.

I think they are outsiders. Hazard is their top transfer target though and he might think they component his style and ambition. He'll probably just follow the cash though!

These days the distinction between first teamer and reserve is blurred and very few players can say that they are first teamers (at United the first teamers are De Gea, Evra, Vidic, Rooney and Carrick). We may end up using the 4-4-2 system with Danny upfront against smaller EPL sides while reverting to 4-2-3-1 with Valencia-Hazard-Nani behind Rooney in Europe/stronger sides.

Rooney has proved time and time again that he can lead the forward line. If we need a natural finisher then Hernandez can do the job while Welbeck will be used when Rooney is running out of steam. Believe me, all three strikers will have ample playing time irrespectively on whether we'll be playing 4-4-2 or 4-2-3-1.

Lille president Michel Seydoux has admitted that his side are fighting a losing battle in trying to keep Eden Hazard at the Stade Lille-Metropole this summer.

The Belgian international, 21, has been linked with big money moves to Manchester United, Tottenham and Real Madrid in recent months.

Indeed United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has recently spoken of his interest in the playerafter travelling to France to watch him take on Lyon.
In an interview with RMC, Seydoux stated: "Eden [Hazard] wants a European experience outside France. We cannot hold him.

"If he already spent two more seasons in France, it is because we have been a very strong club. We make no sales here".

Hazard has made no attempt to hide his desire to move to a top European side in the near future but recently admitted that Champions League football is a must.

This could be a blow to potential suitors Spurs, who are battling with Newcastle and Chelsea for a top four finish in the Premier League.

and the beat keeps running running....

We can't offer him first team football? So lets say we get him and its not going to be for less than £25m, you are saying we are going to spend so much for a player who might not start? Who exactly are you going to play ahead of him? Anderson? Scholes might retire again and no one knows if Fletcher is even coming back. That leaves Cleverley who is kinda injury prone right now. Giggs and Park can't or don't play that often. Pogba situation is also unclear.

Nani said he was really concerned in 2009 about a lack of first-team football and found it really difficult, but the experience made him a better player. Any player looking at a team who has two of the best wide players in the world and Wayne Rooney playing in his positions will want to know where he fits into things, and will want some guarantees. Didn't Sir Alex say something about Jones doing the same?

Yeah he said Jones rejected Liverpool and signed for us because we promised him first team football this season and we have kept our word. The injuries have helped but still I think he would have got his chance anyway.

I think that's fair enough too. It's not like we are renowned for playing a variety of different systems for him to imagine how he may be employed.
Nothing wrong in my view with a player asking a manager how he intends to use him before he agrees to join or not.

Would that not be the same approach with any new job, in most professions, that you would inquire about what roles you will be expected to fulfill by your potential new employer?

I don't see anything wrong with a young player wanting some assurances that he'll at least get enough game time to show what they can do, there's no point in going somewhere that has your role in the team designated as sitting on the bench when you are 21.

I hope he is choosy in that respect, because if Madrid are interested they'll find it difficult to convince him he'll get sufficient game time.

If we are genuinely interested and he places his career over money then we should be favourites, given our record of trusting and developing young players.

With what money?

Just like last season when they were going to sign Mata right?

Arsenal dont spend the kind of money it would take to sign him. So thats a ridiculous idea.

Arsenal not spending big sums to sign players does not mean they don't have the money to spend big. I think at some point in time, Wenger will spend over £20m.

Its happened a few times before for them although very rarely. They splashed out big bucks on jose antonio reyes back in the day. I believe the fee was close to 20m which was quite alot of money back then. Then of course there was 16m-20m on arshavin but he wasn't really a "big name" type of player I suppose.

Mancini has confirmed that city want him on French tv. I just can't see him following anything but the money. I do hope I'm wrong.

I can't see him going to City. They may offer Lille more, but in the end Hazard will go with wherever he feels most comfortable. Don't underestimate the lure of playing for Manchester United.

There is a point when money doesn't become an issue. I would understand if its Madrid or Milan you are talking about. Not all players hold playing for City as an allure.

I'm not saying him choosing us is impossible, I just think that players will think that they can achieve their goals at both club's nowadays and in those circumstances theyll often choose the money. And it won't be a small financial difference either.

Like nasri? I don't think there's any bigger draw than money.

Everyone is different, so no use in branding every player as having the same motivation. Some players dream of playing for a big club, perhaps one they watched and admired when they were kids. There are any number of reasons why players move to specific clubs.

Fingers crossed.

I've seen Hazard one time and it was a video he himself released about how he has so many clubs as options to choose from. Didn't look like the kind of chap to care about the lure of Manchester United to be honest.

He's a Manchester United target.........that's enough.

I've read City have bought hungarian twins for the summer.

They've signed only Hargreaves because he has played for Manchester United.

And Tevez to put up that pathetic billboard.

As much as I would love to agree with you, I just cant see how he would turn down a big money move to City in comparison to playing for United. The reality is City are now in position where they are challenging for titles, so apart from the money aspect he has a very good chance for success.
But the only issue is whether he would get a regular place in City's team. That could be the deciding factor.

I don't see hazard as one who will choose one team over the other because of money, but I could still see him going to city because he'd be a starter easily there. Unlike us, they have no decent wingers which is something they need, so e could become a key player instantly. Then again Saf might Use him as a key player if we get him so we will see.

I agree, he seems quite happy to whore himself to any of the big clubs. Im sure he has expressed his desire to play for at least half a dozen big clubs so far, and all those at a time when his leaving was hardly even imminent!

If we sign him then you can all but guarantee he'll play for us just as much as he would City

I dont know anything about Hazard, compared to say Sanchez who will lost out on last summer is he better? Worse? Bout the same?
