"I want to play in England and that's what I've decided to."

according to a TV presenter in Paris.

 That's either brilliant news or absolutely terrible news.

I expect we'll have to wait ages before knowing which it is.

Silly post. There's no indication that Chelsea are even in for him. You are a United fan, I presume?

Yes, I am.

Chelsea have been linked with Hazard a lot in the last few months. Anyhow, the point is this guy has become a little 'too hot' in the european market. It'll be an auction and we won't get into that.

It'll only be an auction for the teams he actually wants to sign for, if he's anything like Sanchez he'll say a flat feck off to City and no one in their right mind would sign for Chelsea over us on footballing reasons

I dont see Chelsea bothering after signing Marin, their midfield is packed as it is anyway.

I can easily see him going to City.

 I must say I do find these threads funny. So many people (most of whom haven't seen enough of said player to make an appropriate judgement on) desperate to sign Hazard. Oh and Kagawa, we want him too.

Nani
Young
Valencia
Rooney
Welbeck
Hernandez

The six forwards I see being at OT next year, plus one of (yes, just the one) Kagawa and Hazard. Seven seems fine, eight's really pushing it, when the chances are we'll never play more than four at a time.

Pretty much spot on this

Actually I expect the opposite. I think the deal has already been done, and he and the club who has signed him are just waiting for the footie season to be over.

Sorry for the derogatory remark about your post, but it grinds my gears when it's assumed that we can't compete with a shower like City for a top player. I don't understand how such a gross underestimation of our club's status in world football can be compatible with being a fan.

Welcome to the Redcafe Transfer Forum. Every top player is expected to go to Manchester City and Manchester United can only sign average players.

I think you're taking his comment in the wrong way. City have changed things for everyone, and clubs like Real and Barca have always been more prestigious in certain parts of the world or to certain players.

Well now I'm all puzzled.

First Kagawa now Hazard. Too much.

If Hazard or any player says 'United is the club that I want', the deal will be done. And I'm sure those players do exist here or there, but I just don't expect Football these days - certainly from aboard - to have their hearts set on United like that. And unless we get a clear shot at the player, it's going to come down to money and we know the score there. So do we, really, and I do think we tend to realise when a situation is not developing in our favour.

Well if its a toss up between us and City and he still chooses City then so be it, money talks. On the other hand if he chooses us :drool::drool::drool:

Quotes from Mancini

But Mancini admitted in his interview with a French magazine that he really wants 21-year-old Hazard.

The Italian said: “I like Hazard a lot. He’s a good player, he’s young and he would do great things in our team. Given his technical qualities City would be the perfect destination for him.

I have no inside info - he may sign for City, depends on his priorities - but there are good reasons why we might be preferred.

We're Manchester United, one of the great clubs in the game; we have the world's top manager, with a history of nurturing young talent second to none; a record of unbroken success over 20 years; a midfield which clearly needs strengthening; and we're not going to dump him for the next shiny toy if he isn't instantly successful.

I think we bring a lot to the table. If the size of his paycheck is his primary concern of course, he'll be a City player.

In theory if city go for him, they could very easily accommodate him in a midfield of Silva Nasri and Hazard playing behind a striker with Toure and Barry in behind.

It'll boil down to wages but his agents been meeting city for weeks and Laurent Julians (respected French football journalist) seems to think its a 2 horse race in which city are in front

Seems plausible what with the seemingly obvious exits of Tevez and balotelli aswell as dzeko being not all that.

If we were talking about a player like Martinez then I'd be gutted if City got him, with the attacking talent we have already in the likes of Rooney, Valencia & Nani supplemented with the likes of Young, Welbeck & Hernandez I'm not too fussed about missing out on any attacking player and besides with Tevez almost certain to leave they're in more need to attacking players than us.

We need players who can get on the ball and create chances for our attacking players
