Manchester City vs. Manchester United

OH god I'm so depressed. team selection...tactics..whatever..it doens't matter....city have this title...unless newcastle do something..but even then, with our confidence at the moment....I'm not sure we would take it anyway. Hey...don't yell at me...I'm just soooooooooo gutted right now..need time to think clearly. I said before...and you can read my posts..that I thought we would win this...so just gutted

Horrendous line up and how on EARTH does Giggs continue to start and finish games when he's woeful? Is there some rule against substituting him? He and Park should have been off at HT.

We needed a performance and we gave probably our shitest one of the season. SAF.......well got it wrong, simple as that.

2 fecking shots in the most crucial game of the season is quite frankly embarrasing.

Disaster. We didn't even have a shot on target (unless you include Nani's miss hit cross). I know football is a complex game but I'm pretty sure its hard to score a goal if you don't test the goalkeeper. We went down without a whimper. Sad.

We deserved that ad they deserve the win as well as the title. We have been turning up sporadically for the entirety of this season with the lions share of the performances ranging from average to woeful. We got dicked around by clearly the stronger team in the biggest test. Totally deserved. I genuinely hope Sir Alex takes a long hard look at our team and rebuilds accordingly because Neville is righ, this game will most likely end up being the watershed that marks the rise of City.

SAF has got it wrong so often this season - not sure why he keeps repeating the same mistakes.

Our no2 must be on holiday.

Talk about bottling it.. why did we have to be so arrogant & complacent when we were 8 ahead? I'm so fecking angry.

I have a weird question. What song did City play after their win? I know it's a Beatles song.

Wonderwall by Oasis. Hey Jude was the Beatles one.

It all depends on the next set of matches.

I wish it never came to this, but it has. If City beat Newcastle, then it's all over because there's no way QPR will get anything at the Etihad.

Shit fecking bollocks

Well lads I don't think I've been as down watching this Manchester United team lose as I've been in quite a while. To blow the title lead in the way we have is just uncharacteristic of a Manchester United team. To think we were 8 points ahead at one stage and now level on points 3 matches later.

You have to hand it to citeh. They are the better team. Its quite obvious that this is the case and we have to chase them now. Their midfield really is superb. The way they passed around us and created chances was excellent. Players like silva, nasri and aguero found space in the tightest of areas and managed to keep the ball and play it out in an extremely calm and effective manner. Needless to say toure was an absolute machine tonight as well. We couldn't get the ball off him and his direct running caused us all sorts of problems.

Contrast this with our own midfield of Carrick, Scholes, Park and Giggs and It hurts me to say this but we look old and slow. Now you understand why the pace has gone out of our attacking play because these players took too long on the ball and couldn't match the pace of the citeh midfielders. We were constantly being out manouvered when they had the ball and you could see the frustration on their faces as they couldn't get near a silva or a toure. On the precious few times we did attack many passes went astray and we were always happy to play the safe pass but maybe not the good/positive pass.

Towards the end it was clear that all the possession citeh had and the way they played their football had tired us out completely. We were spent. Giggs, Carrick, Jones etc.. they didn't have the legs to keep up with any of the citeh midfield. Whereas guys like nasri, toure and silva were practically dancing around the pitch and had a few chances to increase their lead.

Rooney and Welbeck were largely ineffective too but I suppose thats to be expected in such a tight match. Its shocking how poor Rooney is in his holdup play and general ability to pass the ball and create a chance. He has really regressed in that sense.

Nani, Valencia and co. couldn't create anything at all and it was down to the fullbacks zabaleta and clichy constantly bombing forwards to make them defend right on the edge of our box. They say fortune favors the brave and tonight it favored citeh. They were the more positive side and they never stopped attacking us. We looked like we were spent after 60 minutes and our buildup play was nonexistent. I don't think we fashioned a single chance on their goal. Their goalie practically had nothing to do for the entire match.

There is still a slim chance we win the title if we can get max points from our next two matches and newcastle/qpr do us a favor. However, I don't think anyone can feel bitter about citeh going on to win it all. They thoroughly deserve it after tonights performance and we've just got to go back to the drawing board and continue to build on our team which is clearly in transition now.

Heads up lads. United will never die!

Today was a one off game and what mattered more was the right tactics not resting players etc.

Lika against barcelona he got it abysmally wrong.

Tactically fergie is weak and its too late for him to change. He is the best man manager and motivator in the game but tactically nope.

Park started ahead of Welbeck? Utterly shocking, cowardly decision.

Fergie was wrong yet again. Even if we had won, it was the wrong selection. Fergie's favourites have to go. Evra out. Park out.

fecking fuming. Piss poor shite, players should be ashamed of having thrown away 8 points.

I am pissed off, there was no fight in the team , we had the beating of City and one careless mistake cost us the game and possibly the PL title , they could not score against us in open play and only though a set piece , but that's football , it is not over yet , City still have to go to Newcastle and get something and that will not be easy

Im watching keano on the post match show and am thinking how much we could have done with him today.

Or Yaya, who said no to United (supposedly) and would never have signed for an English club if not for obscene wages tossed at him by City. He was made for United but the cash won out. He'd be at Chlelsea or PSG or wherever if not for the Sheikh's money.

Was pretty much only the Nasri and Kompany chances. Didn't do enough in the final 3rd. The attack was woeful

They played to their strengths. We bottled it and tried to counter-act them.

I wish we'd just played to our strengths. I.e, fantastic wing play with Nani and Valencia, and lovely link up up top with Rooney and Welbeck. That way, even if we'd lost, we'd have lost trying. This, well this was just pathetic.

The master bottled it. We have played well with 4-4-2 and won the same way with City before so what makes him think playing a hopelessly out of form Park in a midfield three is a good idea?

Complete and utter joke.

Ferguson should take all the blame for that performance. He got the team selection wrong, and it fecked us over. Giggs and Park starting was a disgrace considering none of them deserved to start. How can Ferguson justify giving our most inform winger of the season, 12 minutes of playing time? Theres a meme in there somewhere 'biggest game of the season? drop your best winger'

It was hard for Rooney, he was clearly frustrated, and Welbeck did ok when he came on. Giggs yet again finishing another 90 minutes somehow is remarkable, he could stand in the same position, scracthing his arse for 70 minutes and still not get taken off.

On Smalling, he was unlucky for the goal, but thought him and Rio coped well besides that.

Title is Citys to lose now
