It's pointless that some of us try to put themselves in his shoes. He could go to City, play in the CL, be in the team that'll be huge favorites to win the PL next season, a team that might compete better in the cups,a team that'll give him a lot of money and a club where his fellow countryman and friend Kompany plays

Bingo

Loving the muppetry going on in this thread. :D

Ok so he beats Nasri to the bench. Still better off at United.

Idk if you've noticed but Nasri is starting a lot of games recently. They'll have Silva, Hazard and Nasri with Johnson as backup. With 3 players for 2 positions he's likely to get a lot of games. Silva will be rotated more. He's looked knackered after playing so many games. Mancini is likely to learn from that.

He can also play as a 2nd striker if needed which gives them more tactical flexibility.

People are being naive if they think he won't play at City.

This is just the beginning. We have our annual giddiness of being on the verge of signing him before seeing him paraded in another clubs shirt and settling for an unknown, still to come...

I'm staying positive as always, until what you say happens. (obviously will happen)

well he's already class, and has stayed at Lille even when many offers came for him, I hope Fergie has given him the old 'i'll Make you another Ronaldo, BPITW', which he has proven, and pointed to City just buying the next best thing as soon as it comes along, giving examples of Dzeko, Adebayor, Pizarro?, and the other ten or so attacker that don't even make the bench, oh and a 5 month Holidayer who will come back and get his place back in the team.

I'm starting to get optimistic again, thanks RR.

Not sure about it but I think he got credited two assists tonight.I didn't watch their match

Yes, the first assist was due to him being fouled which led to a penalty.

It really comes as no surprise. If we had won the title this year, then we might had a chance. But once we lost the initiative, I think it was clear to him who he wanted to play for.

I wouldn't worry, I saw the first quotes earlier but the second, bolder quotes weren't part of it. I reckon they've been added somewhere along the way.

I also can't see him pricing himself out of a move to City. If they can't afford him then nobody can. Considering the wise career moves from him so far, I don't think he's going to start making silly demands at this point.

Bullshit. Made up like that Kagawa garbage earlier on this week.

For me, that's ridiculous. If he looks at it and thinks City are the team to join because they've won one title the past however many years as opposed to United who has won four of the last six, then he was probably going to go there anyway.

If the reported interest in him from the European elite is true then he can afford to make silly demands at this point, with over three months left until the start of next season.

He also looks at the team we have now and the team they have. They have better players plus the biggest talking point - wages. They can offer double of what ever we can offer him.

The truth is whether people like to admit it or not, is that city have a lot more than just money now. They will probably win the prem this season, and can offer champions league football. You can be sure as hell that they won't just disappear after this season and turn shit either, and for some players the added wages would just be a bonus. Comparing us to city, looking at what players might look at in choosing us over them could be the fact that we have SAF, our history and our stadium. A lot of players don't care that much about that though, they would rather be part of making their own history so it is a case of where the player feels ey will have more playing time I think, and who suits his style better.

I hope we get him, but I just don't see it happening with all the kagawa speculation and that one looking likely. Signing both seems extremely unlikely as well.

feck Hazard!!

Lucas is the shit!!

Plus We have Perriera.

Lucas will cost around the same and maybe even more. Plus he has his heart sent on going to Italy and his second choice is Spain. Unless the twins can convince him to come to England, we have absolutely no chance.

Who Moura? Strange thing for a lad who has his heart set to go to Italy to be having English lessons. Also I'd be happy to pay that price for him.

No it's purely about money.

You are right, it is way too simplistic to say it is all about money, though money is a big part of it. Once City have a title under their belt, they will rightly be favourites to retain it next season. Any player wanting to win titles has to seriously consider City as a good bet - maybe the best bet - of attaining them. We are a good bet too, but after two decades of success, there is reason to have concerns that we may be close to the end of a cycle (think Liverpool) and we may not have such success in the future.

We are, of course, still a very good bet. I am not predicting our demise. But it is not a foregone conclusion we will always maintain our current success. And we are deluding ourselves if we dismiss City's emergence as a force in English football. Their cycle is probably only just beginning, there is every chance they will be at the top now for years to come.

Re Hazard, Lille is working on the organisation of a friendly game with ... Manchester City for the opening of their new stadium this summer

Is he a famous bullshitter or a reliable source?

absolutely no chance - they are now beyond "only for the money" - and if we can't find another 15m bargain with potential, well, we've always got Anderson.

I don't think it would matter to Hazard whether United win the title or City claim it.

I'm fairly sure the negotiations with Man City have been ongoing for quite some time and he's very likely to be their player come summer.

They can offer him far better wages than any other club and let's be honest, they look like the team that will be among the Europe's elite for the next several years.
