Eden Hazard | "I am signing for Chelsea"

The only thing I find encouraging is his emphasis on the deal being done soon. We do like to get deals done before major tournaments.

Still doubt he's coming mind.

Surely we won't buy kagawa and hazard? Unlike city, we use wingers so where would hazard fit with kagawa?

He s going to city. Even though there are other clubs interested he only mentions us and city - So when he signs for them, everyone would know that he chose city over us....like tevez and nasri...

Quite how they're planning to fit Agüero, Balotelli, Tévez, Silva, Nasri and Hazard into the same team is anyone's guess... and there's still Johnson, Adebayor, Dzeko, Milner etc. to do something with.

Squad depth is one thing but this type of shit only works in FM.

That must be a consideration. He's more likely to get games with us.

They'll send half of them on loan like normal.

I'd love to see a rule limiting the number of established players who can go out on loan from one team.

No one on this forum knows where he's going, and the constant refrains of 'he's going to City, he's going to City' are as stupid as they are annoying.

Surely we won't buy kagawa and hazard? Unlikely city, we use wingers so where would hazard fit with kagawa?

We won last CL title with the likes of Nani sitting on the bench while the best player in the past decade, one of the best wingers ever, one of the best playmakers ever, Tevez and Rooney lead the show in a breathtaking 4-2-3-1 system which was a joy to behold. We've got a long campaign, people like Barbie is leaving and this should be Scholes/Giggs last year. We should be able to afford both Hazard and Kagawa especially if the latter proves as financially popular as Nagato was

Fergie said we have "set out our stall to certain players" and it's likely Hazard is one of them. Unfortunately, so have Coty and there's is probably twice the size. Fergie also mentioned expecting City to offer "stupid money and silly wages" perhaps he was referring to this

If he chooses City, I hope he fails miserably! (he won't)

Agreed. Surely there is some chance he will choose us as long as we offer remotely competitive wages to what they are...

Yes but the odds are against us, especially given our strong link with Kagawa. Hazard is special and would be a perfect #7 replacement. But to be honest, £7m for Kagawa or £35m for hazard? I can't say I'll be too upset if we get Kagawa instead and use the main part of the budget for a centre mid, that should be our main priority this summer.

I'm confident we're being used to get him and his agent a bigger payday from City. Agents know they can say "Oh well we've had a better offer from United" and they'll get a bite.

Everybodies saying we're not going to sign him so I'm going to say we will. He'll be our player within the week.

Hazard to City means less playing time for Nasri which means more drama in the dressing room.

I don't get why he would want to make us all confused, given how small time he comes across as, he would never join the team that just lost the league.

Eden is quite mysterious, these days... just like that very famous Scottish football club manager. ;)

Don't you know that Hazard is just waiting to see if Bayern Munich beat Chelsea ... and will come to Spurs if they do? ;)

Is it true he said he will definately play in blue the other week? I just read it in a Swedish newspaper.

No it's fake but has cropped up on various websites.

Maybe it's my inner muppet speaking but I believe there is a decent chance he would choose us over city. If we can guarantee him first team football he may consider that more important than his salary and also Sir Alex Ferguson and his development of young players surely must count somewhat.

He'll probably end up at city but I don't think it's as certain as many people believe it to be.

That would hardly work since I'm pretty sure given our stance and City's insane wages that their deal makers will know the agent is lying.

I like your optimism. My cynicism makes me fear the worst.

He hasn't so far specifically said Man City nor refereed to the blue color but he said he'll go to Manchester. It's obvious that only City will be able to sign him as Lille has a tendency to fleece the teams for their players.
Hazard might leave for a sum higher than 40m euros and only City can afford him.
His value is even higher now with him being back to back the best player in the Ligue 1

I fully expect to see Hazard and Van Persie in Man City kits next season

I havent seen him play.. Is he worth the 40m+ fee?

I'd say he is but then again it's all relative and there many parameters to take into account. He's been the best player for two consecutive season in France, he's young (21 years old) and he is the best talent to emerge of France since Benzema

There's real world class potential with Hazard, has all the attributes you'd wish for in a player like that...and I think he'd easily transition to the Premiership...Would be a coup to land the player, I believe, but nothing is ever certain with a player who has really only shined on a smaller stage...He's a football junkie though and atypical for a Belgian player, IMO - but that's part of being bred from a footballing family I guess...His technique & skills on the ball, particularly at pace, are rare to see from a European player...At times you think he's got South American blood in him

There are not many attacking midfielders with his pedigree, skill set, ambition & versatility than Eden which would explain the inflated prices being rumoured...He could underwhelm, of course, but I can't see him failing per se

He is Nike player and said couple of weeks ago that Sir Alex is the best manager.

Which position does he play?

With Nani, Young and Park to a lesser extent occupying the left wing do we really need another winger?
