This will go on and on! Wish the cnut would just make his mind up.

He's playing this like he's fecking Messi. He hasn't achieved anything in the game.

Playing or acting like Messi?

A question for those who watch him regularly; Is he better than Nani, Valencia, and Young ?

It's impossible to tell with absolute certainty since he's been playing in France. He's not a modern type playmaker/winger who thrives with freedom.
Actually I'd say without a doubt he's better than Young, the other two I'm not so sure.
I can also say with certainty that he's a better (ground) than all three of them.He has a very good vision for through passes.Very creative player

Acting. I meant the way he's handled the entire situation, keeping in mind he's not achieved anything yet. Was there really any need to give an interview after the game? I don't have a problem with him taking his time, its an important decision, but why talk to the press when you have nothing to say? Would be far better off just keeping his mouth shut until he's made a decision.

He's a big time media darling, very demanded by journos. It was his farewell in France, he wasn't gonna refuse an interview. The interview was more like a goodbye from Canal + than him wanting to advertise himself.

What does this bit mean?

forgot to add" passer".Ground passer if it makes any sense.
He is better than all of them at passing the ball on the ground and at linking up plays. He's decent/good crosser of the ball

He wants to go to the best team available that offers the best financial terms and has realistic chances to win trophies. I totally understand that. It's his life and his future.

HOWEVER, I really dislike how he's publicly whoring himself, feeding the media information whenever he has the chance.

He reminds me of a quicker - trickier nasri

I get the impression he wants to go to a London club, hence the reason why he even considered Spurs a few months ago..

Face it guys we are not signing him. The overall package with wages and transfer fee is a ball park we are not playing in anymore. We are the kids kickin a can around to City's and Chelsea's new fresh leather casey. I am not bitter about this, i would never have us sell our souls to oil riches. Just come to accept it. Utd should get other targets signed up whilst the other's wait for this guys answer.

This.

I find it strange that this thread is generating so much interest when the chance of him choose us seem to be virtually nil.

Everyone is just fawning over someone who will be playing for one of our rivals next season. Why put yourselves through it?

Can we have a thread that remains locked but is only updated when there is concrete news?

I find it hard to read through the constant "He is coming" or "Face it he wont be coming" posts

I find it strange that you dismiss our chances of signing him so quickly when he has already confirmed that we have made him a great offer and are a great club, that also suggests that we have met Lilles valuation of him. Why would we even be trying to sign him if we thought we couldn't afford it. Stop getting caught up with all that Glazernomics hype. We beat City to Berbatov, a £30m signing and can surely offer more playing time than them with their overload in his position.

Why do people want us to sign this guy?

Could you imagine him in a few seasons, playing hardball to get a bigger contract?

As good as he is, I do not see him fitting in with the squad.

Plus I do not see how he is what we need at all.

Berbs was an "end of an era" signing. Although Hazard would still be eligible on the age and sell-on value criteria, so yes, fair enough.

We find each others' reasoning strange. Fair enough. Lets wait and see what happens, time will tell - and soon.

Would say "I hope Im wrong". Except I dont. I dont see the point in blowing our budget on Hazard, we need a central midfielder, Id rather blow the budget on one of those.

I can also imagine him deciding that Uniteds where he wants to spend the rest of his career as he wins his 5th balon d'or and signs a contract wherehe gives money to United just for the privilege of playing for us, aftr a season where he scored 120 goalsand made twice as many assists. Imagination is great.

Agree , we're relying on charm, SAF and history to win him over , not sure that's enough nowadays.

We're confirmed in for him, confirmed to have made an offer thats acceptable and he just now has to chose which offer he wants yet apparently we can't compete, it's fecking bizarre.

Exactly. With The obvious exits this summer there is room on the wage budget and we obviously need investments. £30m on Hazard, £10m on Kagawa and around £15m on Asamoah and that is the same £55m we invested last season and it gives us a huge amount of options and great strength.

Add Clyne for a few million and low wages and that's us sorted. Really not that unbelievable.

Edit - for the sceptics the outs:

Berbatov £10m and £100k+ a week.
Park £4m and £50k a week, probably more.
Macheda £7m and £20kish.

That's around £20m back and £170k a week released from the yearly wage. Hazard on £150k, Kagawa on £70k and Asamoah on £50k is an increase of only £100k per week, manageable.

Whats he actually said, whats he actually done. Everyone is acting as if this is some masterminded trolling by him when in fact he played the last game for his club, got lots of huge offers in and has to make the most important decison of his career. He's not said much and everybody is dissecting his every word looking for hidden meanings. The majority of all this stuff has come from twitter and it's everyone else who's decided it means this or that.

I'm really worried that all of this media stuff is a ploy from City if he's going there, just so that he can big them up in front of the camera and make them look like a more attractive prospect than us. Even if it's devious, it could turn out to be a good ploy for them to use.

Hold on a second. Can't really be arsed wading through the last 20 or 30 pages of SNAFU in this thread but didn't he only mention "Manchester"? Are we certain he's talking about United?

That he would tell everyone where he is going, then say he doesnt know. It just seems like he loves the media and all the attention bit too much.

I personally do not want him at the club, mainly because I think Kagawa would be a better fit.

It was later confirmed by Lille that both United and City have been negotiating for him and later Chelsea. The fact Hazard has confirmed contract offers suggests a fee has been agreed in principle or at least isn't far off.

He mentioned "Manchester" when talking to the Lille fans last night, according to what Lille have said he has offers on the table to choose from which are offers from City, United and Chelsea. United have had an offer accepted by Lille. They have also said that there is a fourth club involved now but have not specified who that may be.

Lille managing director Frederic Paquet has told Sky Sports that 'four teams' are challenging for Eden Hazard's signature.

The French season ended on Sunday with Hazard claiming a hat-trick in a 4-1 success over Nancy in what looks certain to have been his farewell appearance.

Both Manchester City and United are in the running for his signature, whilst European champions Chelsea have also emerged as contenders in recent days.

Paquet now says another club are also in the mix for Hazard but it is the player and not Lille who will decide.

"I am not sure he knows [who he will sign for] himself where he will go, so for the moment, we don't know," he told Sky Sports NewsHD.

"From my knowledge he has four teams interested in buying him.

"It is not up to us to tell to him [where to go].

"We have a very strong relationship with the player, we will work together and are waiting for him to make a choice between these four teams."

Owen,PIG as well.

Forgot PIG, probably get £1mish for him and release around £30k a week taking wages to around £70k extra rather than £100k. Owen was free and PAYG. £70k extra is the equivalent of Cleverley and Welbeck both getting their first proper contracts and we'd be signing 3 players for a Net spend of around £33m. Really not that implausible is it?
