So Rooney doesn't have fecking terrible spells of form?

Sure :wenger:

Well then, we'll leave at in football consistency for attacking players stops at Messi/Ronaldo until they retire or end up in club teams not built to allow them to do that.....kind of like Portugal and Argentina.

By pre-2009 standards, Rooney is consistent, so is Nani. Take out Rooneys games in CM/LM this year(1 assist, no goals in 7), and well yeah, I dunno, both are quite clearly consistent, should they play 50 games, you are guaranteed 30+ from them in goals and assists probably.

------- Modric - Carrick

Nani ---- Kagawa ---- Hazard

----------- Rooney

Yes, I am a muppet but that would be strong enough to challenge for the CL.

Valencia-----Rooney-----Nani
--------------Welbeck---------

Would that not be enough to challenge for the CL?

be more like

Carrick/Anderson/Fletcher-Scholes/Cleverley/Kagawa(be rare but if we dont buy a CM, itll happen now)
Valencia/Nani/Young - Kagawa/Rooney/Hazard - Hazard/Nani/Young
Rooney/Welbeck

Don't see Hernandez much unless injuries occur to both strikers should they buy both. Super sub.

Easily able to rotate all that imo. No such thing as a strict starting 11 now really. Options is a nice thing.

I disagree, we started last season with a strict starting XI and then finished the season (particularly at home) with a fairly strict starting XI also.

You dont get the best out of players (particularly attacking players) by constantly removing them from the starting lineup

Because there's no goalkeeper or defense there, we'd concede a lot of goals. Not to mention the lack of a midfield too.

Using the fact we have Nani, Valencia and Young as an argument to not get Hazard is just daft. We should always be looking to bring in players with huge potential and the competition is nothing but healthy. Look at how Evra has suffered not having a left back challenging him and keeping him sharp.

You lot are ridiculous, you complain when we don't go in for the best talents while City, Chelsea, Real and Barca do even though they "don't really need them" then when we look to bring a luxury player in who could help take our squad to the next level... People complain. Unbelievable.

Damn those Glazers sanctioning a load of cash for a player we don't really need. Glazernomics indeed.

So it wasn't enough this season, but we actually didn't play that front four because there was a reason. Ok, I understand.

So how likely do you guys actually think this is? Worth getting excited over, or another Sneijder/Ozil affair?

Yes, I am a muppet but that would be strong enough to challenge for the CL. Imagine the bench of Welbeck, Hernandez, Young, Valencia etc. I think you are looking at 35m each for Hazard, 15m for Kagawa. With players sales, that would be around 65m net - not beyond the realm of possibility as a one-off night of recent spending I don't think.

That would be a terrific investment, we wouldn't have to invest for a few seasons, bar a left back.

Won't happen mind!

To be fair, Nani and Valencia were never fit at the same time so we didn't really get a chance to.

All 4 of them played against Everton and we were arguably at our best attacking wise all season in that game, it's just a shame we were so shit defensively.

The front 4 is more than good enough, the problem is what's behind them in midfield, which is not good enough to back them up.

Its written in the stars, it is our destiny to have this player.

according to moses that is.

I agree 100%

Hazard looks like being one of those special players and we'd be insane not to go for him just because we have very good players who can play in his position already.

Personally I think that if we signed Hazard alone then we could accommodate him and the current players, but if we sign Kagawa also, who is definitely more central, then someone is going to suffer. I'd hate it to be Nani, I think Young is inferior, but if Hazard and Kagawa were starters and we had to bring someone on in the 2nd half to close off a game, then I think Young would get the nod over Nani. If Hazard signs and is as good as he looks then in my view it could well be that Nani becomes the victim.

This should not stop us going for the best players.

And probably for good reason.

Amazing that the only time we played our best attacking 4 this season in Europe was the game we won

Why do you keep rehashing this?

I'll ask you for the THIRD time, have you seen either Hazard or Kagawa play?

Seriously? this same shit again?

Considering Nani is more talented right now than Kagawa, Hazard & Young, I don't get your odd point.

You don't rate Nani, that's clear, you don't have to keep spurting the same drivel.

I log in here and come to this thread immediately and all i'm seeing now is Nani vs Rooney vs Young vs Tony V

Get back to Eden and twitter updating, you gimps

Rubbish arguments. Did we play that front 4 in this seasons competition? No we didn't.

:wenger:

You said we hadnt played them together though.

and the one game we won was against the romanians who with all respect we should be beating with most teams that we put out.

I wouldnt get too excited about it.

No plan which envisages benching the player who just won all the season awards out there could be viewed as half reasonable.

So I woke up this morning and my mum was watching This morning on TV or one of those breakfast shows, could have been BBC maybe. Anyway she suddenly calls out from the other room... "Oh he is a man utd man!!" and when I heard this I came running into the room the muppet inside of me for all to see and said to her, "EDEN HAZARD!!?!?!?!", to which she replied, "what?? No Ben Shepherd..."

Needless to say what my reaction was...

To be fair, I did my best to move this shite debate to the Nani thread, but Redfighter doesn't seem able to control himself.

Why would we get rid of one of the best players in the world in Nani in order to bring in somebody who is potentially one of the best players in the world?

He's going nowhere. He's one of our best players, a match-winner, been here for a while and has a good attitude, why on earth would we sell him?

I wouldnt get too excited about it.

I was mistaken then we played my attacking 4 once (and won). Well done for splitting hairs though

And I'm not getting excited about beating Galati all I'm saying is if we'd of played that attacking 4 against Basel maybe we'd of beaten them home and away as well and then who knows who else had we progressed further in the compeititon

 I feel your pain!

I was not impressed in the slightest, she is clueless when it comes to football, when City won the league she said to me, "oh dont worry, at least the cup is staying in Manchester"

feck sake:rolleyes:

Rooney really isn't consistent.

Kagawas arrival would have no impact on Nani, Young or Valencia. I think he's arriving as a Berbatov replacement. Not like for like of course but squad role in that when we need a different option we can have someone creative with a goal threat who can drop deep like Fergie tried to make Berba but also with pace and energy. That has no impact on our wingers. He's not comic to play in a midfield 2 he'd play off a front man with 2 midfielders behind him as either a deep striker in a 4-4-2 or an attacking midfielder in a 4-5-1
