Eden Hazard | "I am signing for Chelsea"

That's what I've been saying as well Erica. City & Chelsea may pay him more money, but we'll hardly be offering him pittance.

Out of the 3 clubs, we are the most stable. We have a manager who has been here for years, and yes he may only have a few years left but stability should be the key here. Sir Alex is setting up our team, with young players in preparation for when he finally steps down.

Mancini has done well with City, but will he be there for the long run? How long will the Arabs remain? We don't know. And Chelsea's manager position is like a revolving door these days.

If he chooses City or Chelsea, so be it. We'll move on as always.

Are we that stable? It's most likely that a player signing a 4-year contract with United would stay here longer than Fergie, and when he steps down the club is going to face its biggest shockwaves for half a century.

We also have to face the facts that people don't move to United for "love of the club" any more than they do with City and Chelsea. They're a bunch of mercenaries which is exactly why I wouldn't want any of them coming at the expense of our young players' progress.

If he'd signed for Porto after the won the CL would you say the same?

The league is the true test of worth, Chelsea finished 6th and their best player has left, they have no manager.

Chelsea have played CL SFs at least 4 times in recent years and win domestic trophies consistently. Signing for them isn't an odd thing to do regardless of their location and deep pockets.

I doubt Hazard is a United fanatic.

Yes we are stable. We have a manager who has been here for 26 years, and who'll have a plan set in place for when he steps down. He's building for the future with young players for when he finally goes, and somebody else takes over. Yes it'll be interesting to see who takes over, and how the club handles not having Sir Alex there anymore.

If Hazard wants to join City or Chelsea, he can go right ahead.

You are all assuming that every footballer in the world is a United fan and if they do not want to come here, they are deem a mercenary or someone else who have no clue in what they are doing

It doesn't always work that way. Life is full of choices

We are a lot more stable than either City or Chelsea. The champions league win only papered over the cracks at Chelsea and City is always on the brink of chaos should they have a string of bad results or one of their mercenaries decides he wants to go to a big club.
We're signing him.

That is another way of saying that you are at a high water mark.

Chelsea have added a cl trophy to their history, have been our closest rival for the pl just last year and can buy many more players to improve upon their form last season, which still saw them win two trophies more than us. Stability wise we are a club in major debt and he's being hired (if he should come) by a manager that might not be in the seat for that long if you consider his age.

I don't see this "he's only there for the money" argument. If anything, it's a bonus for him that they'll pay them more, but not necessarily the only reason.

Hazard said he wants assurances regarding his role in the team. If he goes to a team without a coach, then it was just hollow talk.

Are we? Two clubs having shedloads of money put in, and one parasitised and being leeched out of £50m a year? Which is most likely to provide the highest wages and be buying the best players to win the most trophies?

I don't know if the wait and suspense is intentional on his part or he has genuinely not taken a decision yet but all the hype that is building is surely not going to help ? I mean a few bad games which is highly likely for a youn player of his style and he'll be labelled a flop already. I hope he has a strong mental strength or else he is likely to go the Torres way.

Wouldn't surprise me, a footballer moving for money, happens every year and every year we just can't help but hope that one will make a decision based on football.

Chelsea are shit I think if he went their it would probably be because he'll get playing time not money motivated.

Yes we are. We've been the most stable club in the world for the last 2 decades and the City being rich is no different from Chelsae being rich , and even with our debt we've dominated. It's the same shit, different shirt is all.

The L'equipe includes the stupid wages so it's no different from what was being reported last sunday in the brit rags.

If the same report was printed about United no one would be saying he's our player... Just usual Cafe negativity.

When has any coach (perhaps apart from Mourinho) been in truly charge of Chelsea's team matters, though? If Abramovich says he's in, he is in.

I agree. Their CL win was hardly Barcelona-esque. It will be the money. Why does no one want to move to a club they love any more? It's not like we will be offering peanuts

But why would he "love" United? He probably has no preference for any English team, and so will choose based on other reasons. It's a shame if he chooses Chelsea but we can hardly say he chose for greed rather than love, because I doubt he loves us any more than he loves Chelsea or City.

Love has nothing to do with anything. But every unbiased journo and fan thinks the best option for his career would be United or Arsenal. Obviously he'll play at a high level everywhere and have a chance of trophies, but still, choosing Chelsea would be down to money.

I'd be suprised if he joins Chelsea. They're the least stable of all 3 clubs, have no manager and there's no guarantee he'd play his preferred position with Mata already at the club.

Hope he signs for chelsea today, so we can move on with other targets.

Sounds like bullshit, Can't find no evidence other that word of mouth on Twitter.

Eurosport are always full of shite as well.

True....but the oligarch may have agreed to pay the huge commission that his agent/s is demanding.

If this is the case, it shows that Hazard's statements about preferred poistion/ manager and the rest were all blabber....

Now, off to the Kagawa thread.....

According to Philippe Auclair, they're saying it's now between United and Chelsea with Chelsea favourites.

The juice of it is 'Eden Hazard will announce the name of his next club before next Saturday,' and that Chelsea are supposedly a step ahead of United in the hunt.

Oh and they say it would make much use if he plays behind Rooney.

I posted this in the Twitter thread, but same applies here.

The L'Equipe story seems to be like all other stories in the past week, just they're claiming Chelsea are favorites to sign him whereas other 'sources' have said United are favorites.

I don't think the papers have a clue as to what is going on and we'll just have to wait and see what happens. I hope this gets resolved sometime this week so that we can move onto other targets.
