You don't have to be a multi skilled superstar to be very effective. I sometimes watch Antonio Valencia and scream at him for not using his left foot, however he is one of the most effective wingers in the premiership, if not europe on his day. For all Nani's superior skill, it's still a toss up over who I'd prefer to have in the team on any given day.
Just read about this being a done deal.
Fantastic
Just a fullback more and we'd be good to go.
Just watched all Hazard's goals and assists from last season, and compared it to Kagawa's.
From 20 Hazard's Goals, 8 were from the spot. (Kagawa 13 goals, 0 from the spot)
From his 15 assists, 6 were from set pieces (Kagawa 11 assists, 0 from set pieces)
I think we maybe got a better player.
Effective for a winger is one thing but an effective CAM is another...Being good with both feet means he can't be neutralized very easily or shepherded to the weaker foot...Defenders will have to either give space or be beaten, Kagawa won't win all those encounters but he will win many...and goals will come
Hmm, not overly similar players, and Kagawa is quite frankly, better.

Call me cynical and it's probably bordering on positive racism by the club if it use the case but I do hope we let Park go now. He had a really poor season and at 31 we can't expect him to get any better. With Kagawa giving us the commercial interest in the far east he really doesn't add anything to the team.
Fantastic servant to us and I wish him all the best.

Good passing, being able to play the ball through, keeps the balling moving, no long balls? Better? Time will tell. Cleverlys younger and still inexperienced.

I was actually agreeing with you. Hazard is supposedly the more talented player, but it's not necessarily the more talented players that are the most effective for the team.

I take it you haven't watched kagawa ever then? He is better than clev and clev is 23 as well no?
We have a player who has said he wants to retire here. I say we keep him. Give him a chance to regain his form a bit, and if not we just use him sparingly as an experienced head in Carling Cup games. On the wing, I should add.

Think JOS want to retire here too, the squad rules now make that more difficult. Park has lost his best attribute (his 3rd) lung and considering his age I can't see he regaining it.
Kicker ie the source that said Martinez to Bayern last week?
well he's 22
I said from the vids Godfather...But lets wait and see what he does in our shirt? How about that? We've bigged players up before and they've not lived up to the billing.
Not saying this lad won't, but personally I don't care what he did in Germany per say - it's what he does for us in England that will say if he's a good player or not

Players as highly rated/sought after as Kagawa don't run their contracts down. Dortmund would never have let it happen. From the moment he refused to sign a new contract it was a case of who he signs for this summer not whether or not he stays. I hope he ends up at United but if we can't cut a deal he'll end up somewhere like Arsenal.
It's a bit like Ashley Young actually. He was too good a player to try and quietly run his contract down, so it wasn't difficult for the selling club to kick off an auction. It's actually incredibly rare for players to run their contracts down, unless they're at the very end of their career. Chamakh and Squillacci are the only players I can think of who joined a CL club in that manner and they're both shit.
He is used mainly on the left by Zaccheroni in the Japan national team setup. So, he could be useful in that position.
Nah sorry man but Kagawa has proven himself as a better player, and I don't think Cleverley is as talented as him therefore won't go on to be better. The age thing makes no difference seeing as he's a year younger.
Kagawa also has one thing Cleverley doesn't, quite an important thing, goals.
please no. Don't do this to us. The prospect of having an actual attacking midfielder who could make a three-man midfield work made me giddy, i don't want to lose that feeling.

Fair as in he is worth it as a player, and it is in line with the fees of the likes of Nasri and Young. It still is a bit of a stupid situation that a player with one year left on his contract can cost such a high figure
