With all of these factors, statements such as 'this player is worth no more than 15 million' are really too simplistic. If the player will help us progress in the CL, we'll earn back the money quickly. It's an investment, really.

We're about to make him the highest-profile Japanese player ever. I suspect we'll make our money back...

I wouldn't hold your breath on this signing as if he is as good as he is being made out to be on here the big boys of today's football will be coming in for him very soon......

Comical really is, wake the feck up.

You need to go sober up son!

It's amazing how it's the same people defending the average players we already have in the squad.

I wonder how many games it takes for Martin ferguson to make a decision on a player.

Perhaps some are going overboard by implying he will solve all our problems. However, you can't seriously write him off before he has even played (assuming he signs).

"Poe's law named after its author Nathan Poe, is an internet adage reflecting the fact that without a clear indication of the author's intent, it is difficult or impossible to tell the difference between sincere extremism and an exaggerated parody of extremism."

Adapting this to the needs of the caf, I present the following adaptaion:

"Without a winking smiley or other blatant display of humor, it is impossible to create a parody of transfer muppetry that someone won't mistake for the real thing."

I dub this 'Pogue's law'.

I watched him once, and he tore Bayern Munich apart in that game, and looked like a player who could offer more than just a squad role at our club.

Scored, created 2 and in general looked very dangerous playing through the middle. How can this not be a good signing in any way? His stats over the 2 seasons in the bundesliga are also fantastic.

Our competition for Rooney's signing was Newcastle, ffs.

Get real, you dickhead.

Yes, you are the one living in reality.

A league in which both Gomez and Dzeko looked world beaters. I also watched the German cup final and Bayern especially were awful

He's the literal best player of the literal champions of literally the third best league in world football, literally. Who we are signing for more than the record transfer fee paid by 86 of the 92 football league clubs in England. This, according to the Guardian, is a sign of us entering a 'new age of austerity'.

We can not compete with the sugar Daddy clubs of todays football, accept it. That's the way it is and thats no disrespect to our club but building these commercial signings up to be more than they ever will be is embarrassing.

This lad can play but he's nothing like as good as Rooney or berbatov.

I don't get the obsession with fee being to high, because he's in a last year of his contract. At the end of the day, you get a quality player for a decent fee, who probably wouldn't even be available if not for his contract situation. Same with Nasri last year.

You get the feeling that some people on here would rather us pay £30m for a player with 4 years left on his contract than £20m for one in his last year, even if they are both of similar quality.

feckwits.

I'm sure if Dzeko played for lets say Spurs he would have a similar record. He hardly got consistent playing time, he was always in and out of the team every week, getting subbed on in the last 10 minutes and starting occasionally in the cups or games that weren't all that important.

 You are on fire today man! Please keep it up so I can get over losing Hazard to Chelsea. If Berbatov is as good as you tout him out to be, how come he did not play that much this season despite him being joint top scorer last season?

Hazard has and will always be shit whilst Kagawa is better than Messi.

No idea why, but my opinion of Hazard has completely changed in the last 24 hours.

Without having seen a single game he's ever played, I was convinced of his greatness. Now, still without seeing any of his games, I'm sure he's crap.

How could I have been so wrong before?

Bild reporting that personal terms are also agreed now.

If you're on a wum, it will only end in tears. If you genuinely believe what you are writing, well then you're just a massive retard.

 What? I don't understand the relevance of that at all. Are you saying that if he moves to us and is successful, other clubs will then be interested in buying him? I'm fairly sure most clubs are interested in buying in form players if they fit their team and the team they are at is open to offers. What kind of statement is that? Are you devoid of common sense?

Kagawa is one of Dortmund's main players, and they have beaten Munich to the title 2 seasons running. The same Munich side which got to the champions league final. I wouldn't say Gomez looks a world beater wherever he plays, he's just a finisher who gets a hell of alot of chances handed to him. Dzeko has always caused us problems and has been rotated in and out of the City side. Still a decent player.

Bayern were awful, but they are one of the best clubs in the world and i've never seen them completely destroyed before the way Dortmund handed it to them that night.

It's great to see all the little kids throwing a strop about missing out on Hazard and immediately writing off Kagawa.

The lad was an integral part of a brilliant, Double winning Dortmunt side. He's outshone Gotze for the last two years.

If we get him, I think he'll be a brilliant signing, seems to have a much better attitude than Hazard too.

Look I am not saying this lad can't do a job for us but he is being built up on here, as the saviour of our creativity problems which IMHO is never going to happen.

Building him up in this way can only lead to dissapointment.

Also why is it that when a team signs someone people feel the need to compare the said player to another. "Not as good as Rooney" not many are :wenger:

Can we ignore retards like All3united, and concentrate on the fact that he is signing for us.

I don't know much about him if I am honest but the attitude thing is bang on. Hazard was talking up a storm all last season about any and every premier league club in the top 5 that would have him. Hazard isn't worth it at all. I know a german girl from school who seems very interested in football from facebook and she talked up a storm about him on a weekly basis so based on that, he sounds like an interesting signing. I don't really see him as a fix to our problems though.

Fair point, if two strikers haven't succeeded, one in one big game and the other in over a season at Buy Everyone FC, then a mid-fielder from the German champions will be shit.

I think I've got that right, yes?

So, what's your point? Dzeko hasn't worked out at City as expected and Gomez scores a lot but botched the final, so Kagawa won't be good?

Seriously, what is the relevance of this statement in this discussion:

Probably wanted to convey that Bundesliga is shir or any other idiotic statement.

He's a very creative, industrious, midfielder. Best used as a link player between midfield and strikers but equally adept at creating from center midfield or out wide. His killer ball/through pass is fantastic and he's a very good passer of the ball in general. Very quick feet and good close control. Not a bad finisher either.

In some ways he reminds me of a very young Paul Scholes, with more pace.

I think he could well be what we are mising.

If a post ever summed up the transfer forum
