Paul Pogba

According to that David Johnson, Pogba is definitely leaving but has turned down City. He's posted a pic with his conversation with Pogba. Seems he is off to France from what I could gather.

City can't offer Paul a contract until his contract expires IIRC, so either the Johnson fella is taking crap or City tried to tap up Pogba.

Didn't it expire today? Doubt he's talking crap though, as much of a gimp he is, he does seem to know the players and that.

So he got offered 45k today and rejected it that quickly , I don't doubt Pogba's leaving but the City bit doesn't sound right also I think it's June 30th the contract's expire.

I think it's likely that City spoke to him a while back. I don't know why you find the notion of him rejecting it today so funny, what the feck would you possibly know about how these things work anyway.

English clubs can't offer Pogba a contract before it expires otherwise it's an illegal approach, I didn't reject the notion of it but if it did happen it's illegal. What's so hard to understand about that? I was laughing at the fact Pogba would reject an offer so quickly after dragging his feet over it so long.

Yes he did. He bet that M16_0RA a fecking car that Morrison would stay. I'm not saying he's wrong, but he definitely said Morrison was staying.

 I do vaguely remember that, but he did say throughout that he was trying to convince Morrison to stay and hinted that he was likely leaving. I think he even put money on him moving to West Ham. He was definitely mates with Morrison though.

That bet was some shite remark from M16_0RA about him betting his Ford Fiesta or something like that. Basically mocking him from being a bit of chav with no money.

Yup he did said that.

Anyway he was always going after Marotta's comments.

Nothing is hard to understand about that. Read what I said, I think it's likely that City spoke to him a while back. I'm not saying they offered him a contract today, but I was bemused by the way you laughed it off as if you have any idea how long it would take Pogba to reject City, especially since it's widely considered he has agreed a deal elsewhere.

Just read this in the Fifa regulations:

Players under the age of 18 may not sign a professional contract for a term longer than three years. Any clause referring to a longer period shall not be recognised.

It's there in black and white, you can't have a year option in the contract, which makes our persistent reference to such earlier this season absolutely ridiculous.

/\
That also depends on when that provision came into existence/was revised. If it existed prior to signing Pogba then there would be no such thing. However, if the club signed Pogba prior to any rule creation/change, the club's contract would be grandfathered.

One anther note - i'm absolutely sickened by this news. Ravel, we knew was a rollercoaster, but didnt think Pogba would care less about the club. If that lad wants the world right now he's a fool.

Bestie was that good because he was nuts in training. Hard work completes the talent. As his Da Dickie said " George told vey late in his life that he used to practice taking corners with both feet to hit the cross-bar..."

These young lads have that bling mentality & they want the quick buck without doin a fecking thing. Chelsea & City have really fecked up our football landscape at this present time; want everything - havent given anything!

Scholes is also out of contract by that list. It means the list isn't completely up to date but we've clearly offered contracts to the like of Pogba etc.

Dislike it as much as you want, it goes with the territory. Twenty years ago when the BBC broadcasted the games, you didn't know what game would be shown on telly, you might see Utd or you might get Sheff Utd vs Cheltenham, now I can watch every academy game if I choose to. You either get with the program or follow FC United or other idealistic clubs (hope they thrive).

As an overseas fan I sadly just suck it up and try to enjoy it as much as I can. For me Scholes, Giggs and Fergie is the last link to the good old days. Whatever comes next will be a new experience, but I'll be still following it with interest.

Cleverley and Welbeck prove there is hope yet.

The nanny mentality of the Beeb even extended to sport.

'You might not like this, little Johnny, but it's good for you!'

Jesus, a 164 page thread about a player with only a handful of 1st team appearances. FFS!

I know, it's ridiculous. The amount of media attention an unproven player such as him has received has been beyond ridiculous.

I have high hopes for Welbeck, seems old school somehow. Cleverly not so much, I hear he has a brand ala Ronaldo already...

To be fair to Cleverley his contract was allowed to run into it's final 6 months and all it took was a chat with SAF and that was that.

Sadly, my feeling is that this doesn't apply only to footballers. This is generational.

Most definitely and it extends to all walks of life. I see airmen (USAF) that act this way (bling mentality, thug wannabes) and it just sickens me. Image means nothing when you grow up. And how about a little self-pride, discipline and integrity?

I hope I'm wrong, he was excellent before his ancle got fecked. Just don't like when a noob gets above his stature. Welbeck seems more level headed.

According to Tuttosport, he's in Turin today. Should be finalised soon if that's the case.

Of course it's possible be got on a plane last night or today, but I'd be surprised if it was true as he was in Rosso's last night according to Ben Hibbs.

The "Last Supper" in Manchester perhaps?

Tuttosport claims the 19-year-old is already in Turin today in order to undergo his medical and sign the paperwork.

However, it is by no means certain that he’ll be wearing the Juve jersey next season.

Antonio Conte wishes to evaluate the player in pre-season training before deciding whether to keep hold of him, send Pogba on loan or include him in a potential exchange deal.

He has been mentioned as a possible bargaining tool in Juventus’ attempts to sign Kwadwo Asamoah from Udinese.
