Shanghai Shenhua vs. United [Preseason Friendly]

I'm surprised a lot of people are praising Brady, he seems to be positioned well enough but can't make basic passes or control it sometimes! Obviously he has those skills and is just unlucky, but hasn't stood out for me!

Tbf, he has been alone on that left side.

Paddy needs to learn the offside rule.

Paddy is honestly one of the worst commentators I've ever heard. He seems to forget the basic rules of football
Great save from lindegaard though.

Valencia needs to stick to the wing. He isnt half as effective coming inside.

Poor half. Petrucci has shown some nice passes.

So when are RvP, Rooney, Nani and Lucas joining up with the team for the preseason games?

Haven't been impressed with Powell so far. Petrucci looks pretty good. I thought he was probably our best player.

Not been a particularly good tour for performances so far. Mostly some bright spots from the kids. Hopefully we get the rubbish out the way now and go steaming into the new season.

The hilarious thing about Paddy is that he will make an incorrect call, which is fair enough, we all do it now and again upon first viewing in real time. The problem is, he will point blank refuse to change his mind despite the replays showing otherwise.

Paddy needs to retire but he is hilarious he sees everything in red tinted glasses just like 90% of us the other !0% on us here are miserable wankers

Last year we were sticking 5 past the Yanks. At least they tried to play. Every single player back is proper Chelsea style tactics.

I watched the last game with his commentary, at one stage the commentator kept emphasising how to pronounce Kagawa, but Paddy wasn't having it  Eventually the other guy was like "that's how Kagawa told us to say it" and Paddy just went "well...", as if that wasn't good enough proof

Does anyone at all think that Macheda is anywhere close to good enough to make it at United?

Some of the young lads out there aren't ready yet. Brady for example isnt good enough at all atm. Veseli neither tbh.
I'm also not sure about Macheda. He's lively but that's about it.
Anderson was impressive this half, he had a lot of time when on the ball though.

Am I watching the same match because for me, Brady attacking wise has been so wasteful, Anderson has looked a bit sharper but not close to his best yet, Powell has tried too many long balls and he doesn't have Scholes precision to keep on wasting those passes yet while our game hasn't been able to get Valencia to his best position which is to run at the fullback...

Apart from Pettrucci who looks class, we've been average at best and Macheda needs to have a lot more awareness if he's going to succeed.

Btw, I've been watching Kagawa's running style and play and I have read some where that he's engine is a bit more rapid than other players and I tend to agree, its' his small steps, but also its his good change of pace that makes him hardly lose the ball... If Anderson can play in a 2 man MF, I'm positive that Kagawa can be converted too. I've liked the look of him so far to be fair and I'm trying very hard not to be biased on Asian players.

Does he still call Patrice Evra Patrick?

I remember that  It was so bad that it was hilarious to hear.

Also regarding Macheda, I really do think his goal against Villa (and sunderland) has prolonged his chances. Im not sure if hes trying to hard or what, but he seems to want to take on everybody and shoot everytime hes passed the ball rather than keeping it simple or passing it to somebody in a better position.

Paddy has an uncanny knack of calling virtually everything wrong. I think he's living in a paralel universe.

Sometimes he'll even play off his bollocks as actually one of the players fault. Like saying "great ball that" almost before the balls been passed, and when it ends being a terrible ball and skipping out of play 4 meters in front of it's intended target, he'll go "oooh unlucky, he coulda got there"

the kids are allright, I dont see much wrong if we were a goal or so up everybody would be creaming their pants, we are in good hands going forward

They should compensate to Paddy's bias by partnering him with the Phil guy from Prestwich.
