Again this is a Manchester United XI. I was less than half listening but I think MUTV said this game will include retired United players, so there may not be anyone from the first team squad in the team.

I've got my tickets.

Papers up here saying Scholes, Giggs and Vidic (might have been someone else) will travel up, and that " Ferguson also hopes to persuade some of United’s past legends – such as Bryan Robson, Teddy Sheringham and Dwight Yorke".

What sort of team are we expecting? Was mulling over whether to go.

I'd assume most players not going to play for their countries will come along and play at least a tiny part

I hope some of the young kids get a run out too. That's been a positive part of pre season.

Considering how we are faring in the transfer market i wont be surprised if a Player has a good game he may be offered a 1 yr contract. After all no one can replace robson right?

They should give Usain bolt a bell :)

e final warm-up game before the competitive action starts on Monday night at Everton will include a mix of first-teamers, youngsters and players from the past.

Although the exact make-up of the squad has still to be confirmed, the boss told MUTV recently: "We've got the internationals on but we've got Nemanja Vidic, Rio Ferdinand, Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs and I'm bringing back some of the old players like Dwight Yorke, Andy Cole, Quinton Fortune and Clayton Blackmore. Then it's all the young players.

"Yorkie refused to go unless he was captain and takes all the penalties and corner kicks! We'll go up there with people expecting to see Manchester United at our best and we have a lot of supporters from Aberdeen. They travel down on a flight for every home match, I think 120 come down, so we've got fans up there and we want to do well in every game. It'll be nice to do it coming up against my old team."

Sir Alex also paid tribute to Simpson, who played under him during his successful tenure as Dons manager prior to his switch to Manchester back in 1986.

"He was one of my first signings at Aberdeen," the boss recalled. "I think he was the first signing as he was training with them at the time and was only 15 or 16.

"He developed very well and was totally committed. He was a serious competitor with a tremendous

So I'd guess we might see:

Johnstone
Vermijl Vidic Rio Blackmore
L. Cole Scholes Fortune Giggs
A. Cole Yorke

bench: M. Keane, Blackett, Brady, Lingard, Petrucci, Wootton, Tunnicliffe

Wouldnt it make more sense to wrap Rio in cotton wool till some of the other defenders return?

Evans has been in light training for a few weeks.. Maybe he could get a run out.

I'm not sure if I want to give my hard-earned cash to this man:

Although Simpson has done a lot of good in the area.

feck off. A bad tackle, but the way some Rangers fans go on about this, you'd think he killed him. He was hounded out of Scotland by the central belt press and every single time Aberdeen play Rangers it is still brought up by the press.

Considering Evans isn't supposed to be ready to play against Everton I'd be surprised to see him.

I just put in Rio since SAF mentioned him, usually you start a game like this with the bigger names and move them off at half time, so that's what I would guess. Should be a pretty light pace, no more likely to cause an injury than training.

Saying that though we still sing the "Ian Durrant" song everytime we play Rangers so I don't think it's just the press that bring it up everytime we play them. ;)

And they sing the song that makes wild claims that Durrant is dynamite trying to provoke a response.

Killed Durrant's career in fairness.

Touché.

Adnan Januzaj also on bench.

De Gea, M.Keane, Rio, Thorpe, Blackett, Powell, Anderson, Macheda, Bebe, Giggs, Scholes

Bench: L.Cole, Blackmore, Johnstone, Fletcher (), Fortune, Januzaj (), Yorke

The bird reporting on MUTV is fit, but my god she just said Macheda in midfield, Giggs and Scholes up front haha.

I'm not watching this, but I hope Januzaj comes on the pitch and someone makes a good video of his performance and uploads it on YouTube...

Fletcher on the bench is great, can't believe we're playing Rio though, big risk.
