Southampton vs. Manchester United

Totally agree.

This a young lad who's spent most of his career frustrated at missing large chunks of every season.

There's no sense in ruining his momentum at a time when he is actually fit.

With Scholes and Giggs, it's not a case of "they haven't played for a while so they could do with a run out." They are now back up players, and should be used accordingly.

Agree with the agree ^

Bricking it for this match.. hope we really go at them from the beginning and don't let them get their crowd up for it.

Play both Anderson and Cleverley. Putting the trust in them and then having a good away performance will do the duo and us nicely.

I'm hoping for clev and carrick personally. They're likely to be the first choice pairing in general but they've barely featured together.

I would personally go with TC, Ando and Carrick away from OT. That way we should have the numbers to be solid and control midfield, but we also have enough pace in the middle to offer an offensive threat. We could just let Kagawa and Nani float about behind RVP and let the fullbacks provide the width.

Rafael---Vidic---Evans--Evra

---Anderson----Cleverley---
Kagawa-----------------Nani

Is Valencia injured?

I just don't think we need to do that. Kagawa in the middle with clev and carrick should be more than enough. Ita not like Valencia gives the ball away much and his attacking threat is much great than ando's not to mention his work rate. I just for see enough about ando to justify dropping a winger and putting kagawa in a less influential role. The argument regarding where people play with Rooney and rvp is one thing but not with ando. Just ott for me.

Exactly.

I also think Cleverley will be rested. He has had alot of football recently, with the Olympics, England and for ourselves, and will also be part of the England squad next week. Might see Anderson or Scholes take his place today.

England should rest him for us, we shouldn't rest him for England.

What the feck sort of a line up is that?

I assume DDG is injured?

Rotating keepers again! Didn't work last season, not going to do any good this year.

And Welbeck on the wing? Playing players out of position is pointless.

Man I hope nani is injured, a minor injury though. If he's actually been dropped or is there's a big issue with his contract or something that will be well annoying.

We can't really say more than enough though Ash, considering they haven't played a game together yet. Away from home we take too many risks playing only 2 in the middle. We need to win that area, and that means competing for the ball. TC and Kagawa is leaving a lot up to Carrick in my view.

We have looked vulnerable in midfield so far, despite lots of possession. Anderson will add a bit of power and pace and competitiveness and we look a bit light in there without him. I would like to see us go solid first, rather than give Saints too much hope early on. The only chance Saints have is to bully our midfield, going with 3 players who haven't played a single game together yet is pushing our luck by underestimating the opponent yet again imo.

Why can't we just play people in their natural positions? Either Welbeck or Kagawa will be forced out left, why?

Also, why in the world would we not start De Gea, I really hope we don't start the keeper rotation again.

Welbeck on the left instead of Nani makes no fecking sense.

Poor timing to give lindegaard a game.
