Southampton vs. Manchester United

What's with people hating on Welbeck being wide? He has every attribute to be a great wide forward but his finishing doesn't really warrant a central role atm.

Dropping De Gea is weird though.

What the feck sort of a line up is that?

I assume DDG is injured?

Lindegaard
Rafael rio vidic evra
Carrick cleverley
Valencia kagawa welbeck
RVP

Basically the same we were expecting, with rio instead of Evans, welbeck instead of nani and lindegaard instead of de gea. Hardly a what the feck sort of reaction.

Can't say I am too happy with this. We need some stability not piss balling around when everyone is fit.

The Nani exclusion is bizarre too. Makes me think there are issues.

That's a pretty big "what the feck" for me, personally.

EDIT: If DDG is injured, then fine. Just can't understand the Nani omission though.

stop fecking moaning it's a strong lineup that should do the business

I thought all the doom and gloomers left this place in 2006? Chill out ffs.

While I would prefer Nani to be playing too, you're love for him just goes too far.

He was at fault for the goal that made the fulham match "a match" as Fergie put it, and Lindegaard in fairness has been very reliable and solid and deserves games.

Nobody is claiming "doom" as in we won't win this, but the lineup is very questionable, just like quite a few times in the last few years.

Reckon welbeck will play wide. Team looks good just shame no nani, hopefully he's just had a knock and we're easing him in. If there's no keeper on the bench that's worrying, surely the reserve goalie usually travels?

United Subs: De Gea, Evans, Hernandez, Nani, Giggs, Scholes & Powell.

Yeah that's the only real surprise for me. Nani seems to have done something to upset sir alex and there was probably some truth in the rumors of nani leaving because he would definitely be starting if this wasn't the case.

Call Plech!

Wanting our best (or second best, however you feel) winger to play on the wings instead of a striker means I love him too much. I see.

Well Ash looks like you get your wish, let's hope it is enough, i think we are just handing Saints a chance to get at our midfield 2, with that line up.

If those 2 don't dominate their opposite numbers we will not get the ball to Valencia. Welbeck on the left is not going to provide much in terms of quality delivery, so all our eggs are in the Valencia wingplay basket yet again, unless Kagawa has a stormer.

Just don't like this 2 in the middle away from home. TC can't get forward as much now without leaving Carrick on his own. If he is going to have to stay deep then Anderson would have been a far more powerful alternative.

We will just have to wait and see. :)

I assume DDG is injured. If they have no keepers at all, it would suggest it is a sudden thing.

Something not right with Nani, it's obvious.

Looking forward to seeing Clev, Carrick and Kagawa link up. Should be interesting if they click

Welbeck on the wing is a bit wasted. Hope we go 4-4-2 instead.
Narnia to come on and score a screamer.
