Had a very poor match against Azerbaijan. Was rated 5 by Abola(which was the lowest but Veloso was also rated 5) and one person who covers the Portuguese Football and runs the site PortoGoal said he was looking very poor and extremely out of confidence.

There are times when Nani is so like Ronnie that it's amazing . He can be exceptional but he has far more off days than Ronaldo

Ronnie doesn't have off days, he just has days where he only scores one goal.

Odd that - he was excellent for them in the summer. Wonder if all the bulsshit over the last few weeks (whether his fault or not) has got to him.

Wouldnt be too surprised if he had an off game, remember games in the euros where Nani was overlooked too often despite being dangerous each time he got the ball. I also feel there have been times where that happens in his United career. So perhaps he needs to demand the ball a bit more

I agree. Time for Nani to take on/be given more responsibility. He frustrates but his unpredictability and skill can win games on his own.

Reckon he'll start tomorrow. Who else think that?

It would be illogical if he didn't, with Young being injured and Valencia coming back from half way across the world in a foul mood.

Last time Nani's Manchester United career was in doubt he turned it around with a special performance against Wigan at home. Lets hope history repeats itself.

If he doesn't start tomorrow, then I fear the worst for him. There's absolutely no reason for him to not play tomorrow.

Hull, wasn't it? Was quality that. His best game for us, in my opinion.

Wasn't this just after he was left out of the squad for a good while? I remember te rumours then and it seemed to make sense, he hadn't been performing and didn't look like fulfilling the potential we thought he had. Intact I remember starting a thread more or less calling time on his career with us because I was so frustrated with him, how wrong was I! Whatever the united staff did to him while he was out of the squad is a miracle because he came back a different player.

You can tell I wrote that post on an iPhone...

Chelski last year? Arsenal two years ago? City in the Shield?

I thought it was Arsenal away:confused: Remember thinking that we were in trouble with Park on the left and Nani (who hadn´t been in the first 11 for quite a while) on the right and Rooney alone upfront. That game was the best I´ve ever seen nani play. Don´t remember the Hull match:confused:

Chelsea last season, twice against Arsenal, Bayern in the CL are the standouts for me. That Hull game he was untouchable, but it's Hull.

He'd broken back into the team a couple of games before that I believe. I think the Hull match was when Rooney scored 4 goals. the first sentence is 100% correct, the second one is me thinking it was against Hull but it could have been against any bottom feeders

Ever? Come on...

Ever. 10/10 performance. Better than Bayern, Arsenal, Chelsea, etc... in my opinion like I say.

Obviously he's performed against better opposition, but just taking into account the performance he was amazing that day. Was random as well, it just came out of nowhere. There's probably a distinction to be made here between best, most significant/impressive, greatest, combination of all of them, etc...

It's like Ronaldo's best performance for me came against Bolton in 06/07 (or one of the very best at least). Not the one he'll be remembered for mind, nor was it the most significant, impressive, etc...

remember Rooney scoring 4 but don´t remember Nani having the game of his life. Posters on here tells a different story though so maybe it´s just me going senile:(

I´m amazed i don´t remember this... It was Arsenal away to me anyway;)

Are you sure it wasn't Wolves instead of Hull? He had a decent outing against Elokobi (sp?) once.

Was definitely Hull. Rooney scored all 4 I think.

There is a youtube video floating about of Nani in that game

Very good today, seems to have stolen Valencia's left foot though.

Must have had a bet with someone that he'd score with his left, looks low on confidence a wee bit.

On the whole, a good game. Second half much better, and set up the first. Dismal shooting, though.

Game of 2 halves from him.

Poor in the first and very good in the 2nd. Still expect more of him though i do think the contract issues must have a bearing on him.

Thought he was decent and showed moments of quality. Just think he's going through a rough patch atm, he'll come good again, a goal will do him a lot of good. Still he made things happen even if he didn't make the best decisions. His movement as well was good.
