Manchester United vs. Wigan Athletic

Was just reading the story about Wigans kitman (Dave Mitten) who, when we played them for the first time after he'd become their kitman, jumped up and cheered from their dugout when we scored (he's a united fan).

i don't suppose there is any footage of this event is there?

Why do you hate Anderson? He'll start at least 1 of the next 3 matches. Maybe even 2.

I was going to start him against Gala but then I realized that would mean resting Carrick for the first two. Maybe we'll see Scholes and Carrick today and Cleverley and Anderson midweek.

My thoughts: Wigan will probably start in 3-4-3

Carrick and Scholes for me in central midfield today because we will control this game in midfield - and we will need someone to get the tempo up.

Nani and Valencia on the flanks. With flanks - Wigan will need to move Boyce and Figueroa down in defense - so they will need to play 5-4-1. That way we will get constant pressure on them. And with Maloney and Kone being forced into midfield doing defensive work - they will lose their ability to counter-attack efficiently.

Van Persie and Hernandez in attack since Chicharito hasn't started a match yet and has a good record against Wigan. And also because the Wigan-defense is slow and won't like playing against him

brilliant!

United to win while keeping a clean sheet at 2.10, sold!

Sir Alex will want to win this as early as possible. Players coming back from international break and the next game is Liverpool away.

Actually, the next game is against Galatasaray which I assume he'd take as serious as the Liverpool game.

Lindegaard, Rafael, Rio, Vidic, Buttner, Nani, Carrick, Scholes, Giggs, Chicharito, Welbeck

Damn it, there goes Evra, RvP and Kagawa for my fantasy team

Lindegaard, Rafael, Ferdinand, Vidic, Buttner, Nani, Carrick, Scholes, Giggs, Chicharito, Welbeck.

fecking horrible, lets be honest.

Giggs and Scholes against a 5 man midfield. feck off.

This is going to be another horror show.

CONFIRMED MUFC XI:

Lindegaard

Rafael
Ferdinand
Vidic
Buttner

Nani
Carrick
Scholes
Giggs

Welbeck
Hernandez

SUBS: de Gea, Evans, Powell, Cleverley, Kagawa, Valencia, van Persie.

Clean sheet, three points and a solid defensive and midfield showing will be absolutely great. Even if we don't score too many.

Disappointed to see no RvP and DDG and relieved that Giggs isn't playing in the middle. Great to see Evra finally get dropped.

Lindegaard again?

Good chance to have a look at Buttner. I don't like Giggs and Scholes starting in the same team but hopefully our midfield will be able to play better than in the games so far. Glad Hernandez gets to start, hope he and Danny can get goals.

I can't believe De Gea is benched again, this is just stupid.

With Evra and RvP benched maybe Sir Alex is taking this "one mistake, couple weeks on the bench" thing seriously.

Why do you assume Evra is dropped? He might be rested just as Kagawa and RvP.

What a bench

So no De Gea again. A lost of confidence like last season it isn't off the card.

Glad for Chicha and Nani.

Is Anderson dead?

Why not play our strongest team available? 4 games in and already rotation is well over the top.
