They're there for the taking. Be really disappointed if we didn't win this one. Due one.

The emotions, the tribute (rightly so), the fans, and the occasion will all have an effect and they will come out very aggressively. I think if we see out the initial storm, we should be fine. I'm hoping Rooney returns though.

Team should be....

GK: De Gea

RB: Rafael
CB: Evans
CB: Vidic
LB: Evra

CM: Cleverley
CM: Carrick
CM: Kagawa

RW: Valencia
CF: RVP
LW: Welbeck

Subs: Lindegaard, Ferdinand, Scholes, Giggs, Powell, Nani, Hernandez

I'll take a draw. Liverpool will be their usual game raising selves.

SUBS: Lindegaard, Evans, Fletcher, Scholes, Giggs, Welbeck, Hernandez.

Although if Rooney is fit expect him to play some part.

really?
I think we'll win. Liverpool arent anything special.

I can understand the apprehension of people with the recent games there but c'mon lads! Liverpool have been very, very poor for a good length of time now. If there's ever a chance to go and stuff them in Anfield, it's this Sunday.

It's their Cup final. It's just Uniteds next league game. And it shows.

It's never made a difference, we just freeze every time we go to Anfield. They will close us down at every opportunity. Look how they done against City, they will do that and more.

It makes no difference. They always raise their game. In Benitez' last season they lost 5 games in a row and still beat us at Anfield. It's what they do.

"And now we hand you over to your commentary team: Niall Quinn, Sammy Lee, Mark Lawrenson, Mike Summerbee and Kenny Dalglish."

The 'this is their cup final' excuse annoys me at times, we're the majority of teams 'cup final' in the league yet we dispatch of most of them. Fact is, we haven't performed to the standard we know we can in Anfield in a while.

I dunno whether it's the bearpit atmosphere getting to our players, or whether it's the burly-brawl from The Matrix Reloaded approach to pressing that Liverpool adopt in these games, but...we usually get f*cked either way.

The attitude from some is that it's almost OK to lose to them 'cos they raise their game so much.

We usually get out-fought there and usually they're too aggressive for us. I'm hoping their new style of play will mean that this will be less evident this season. I'm not sure though.

We all say that Liverpool are better at getting themselves up for these matches - and I believe they are - but doesn't that say something about our lads?

To be honest, not since the Chelsea CL semi final of 2 years ago do I remember us 'raising our game' in an important match. The key matches last year were dismal (CL qualifiers, City x2, FA Cup, Carling Cup).

Are we mellowing as Fergie does?

Game-raising cnuts indeed. Not looking foward to this one - we usually play diabolical at Anfield in the past few years.

Any type of win for us is fine by me.

The reality is that this is a shite Liverpool side, and if we lose to them either we've failed to show up again, or get unlucky.

feck, I'm excited for Sunday.

They're like those annoying zombies from the movies; you think you've destroyed them, then they get back up and grab your leg...as you try to run off with the trophies.

On a brighter note: they don't have Dirk Kuyt anymore; nor tree-trunk-in-a-football-kit Andy Carroll; Reina's mastered the art of Suicide Goalkeeping; and Suarez fires more blanks than Pele. In short, they're not as jammy/ferocious as they once were.

Cheers, clearly Reina's gonna have a masterclass in nets and Rat Boy is gonna score now.
