Liverpool vs. Manchester United

We did it. :)

Thank you Rafael.
Thank you Ferdinand.
Thank you Robin.
Thank you ref Halsey.

Woeful performance. Great result.

Dunno why the scoffing at Gerrard winning motm. He shit on our midfield for the majority of the game.

He wasnt even the best player in a liverpool shirt. Stirling was.

Rio put in the best defensive performance I've seen in the premier league in 3 or 4 years.

Thought Liverpool played really well in the first half, Shelvy killed their game with that nasty tackle but credit to them for fighting with ten men.

Our wingers have been in such poor form yet we're scraping these 1-0 wins, kinda hope this continues.

As long as we get three points, I'm a happy guy.

Poor, static display by us. Sloppy at times aswell. sneaked a result, happy days. But we need to improve x 100000000000.

Had no real shape, lead to us playing alot of longballs from the back. I hate us playing that way, as the ball goes straight back to the opposition. We need to settle down and try play he game to our pace and passing rhythm.

I can't believe we won. Will take it though..

However, I really can't see any single significant call the ref got wrong in this game. He was right on money in all the important and semi-important calls IMO.

I'm so fecking pissed, we played so incredibily poor it was incredibile.
We better fecking improve cause we're not going to get far with this kind of play, really shocking performance.
Positives - Rafael, Ferdinand's performance and us finaly scoring from the spot. Kagawa and Scholes also weren't bad, but honestly we were so crap it's hard to even think positive, how we managed to get 3 points I still don't know.

I change my stance on the Valencia pen, not a dive.

Didn't notice how Johnson pushed him in the back with his right hand before he went in for the tackling, so Valencia had a reason to go down.

Still the Evans did barely touch the ball but got Suarez first, was a peno as will imo.

We're always a bit naff at Anfield aren't we? Jammy victory.

I only have seen the second half but we were shocking. One of the worst performances I have ever seen from us.

Anyway, we got 3 very important points.

SKY gave the MOTM to Gerrard for his bravery.. my god..

Rio played like a fighter and Rafael was also very good.

Well me and Hernandez did tell you. For me that being a penalty is summed up by Glen Johnsons reaction, he did the 'fake injury when you've fecked up' thing, rather than the outrage that players usually have if there's been an injustice. I'm still staggered at our own fans questioning that tbh.

SKY has a massive hardon for the likes of Gerrard, Lampard, Terry, et al. Rio played on 1.5 good legs out there and was magnificent.

Outside of a shot off a corner (after an illegal moving pick by a teammate freed him) and that goal, Gerrard was virtually invisible save his constant moaning to the ref.

Great result but there was no denying that we were second best even when they went a man down.

Quite a flat and disappointing performance really despite the result. Pretty much par for course of the way we play when we visit them over the last few years. They didn't do much except close us down at every possible opportunity and we just kept coughing up the ball and allowing them into dangerous positions.

I thought the penalty was a little soft as even though there was a slight push on Valencia there really wasn't too much in it. What makes it worse is that Valencia probably could have done better in either making the pass or shot at least a second quicker rather than be so indecisive.

Kagawa got worse as the match got on too. Not really helping much with keeping the ball and never really helped open them up. We were just overrun in midfield time and time again.

Rio Ferdinand was hands down the man of the match. He performed brilliantly against suarez and saved us from conceding on a number of occassions. Evans & Evra were generally poor and the goal we conceded right after the half was a result of everyone sleepwalking.

It just seems like we aren't clicking very well when we face an opponent that presses and harries us. It was more or less the same against so'ton as well. The 4-5-1 really doesn't bring the best out of this team. RVP was isolated for most of the first half and barely had a touch of the ball.

A real lucky 3 points but will definately take it at this stage of the season. I just hope we improve but it looks like yet another injury crises to our backline, with Ferdinand, Evans and Rafael all seemingly picking up knocks.

reminds me of the John OShea smash and grab a few years ago.

I don't mind the performance given the circumstances: away to Liverpool, an afternoon of intense charged emotion, the suarez/evra sub plot and then on top of all that, losing our captain just before kick off ...

yeah, whichever way possible, I'll take the 3 points anyway.

And we scored from the penalty spot. Yay!!

an undeserved victory is always more sweeter against the bin dippers.

Nothing compares to turning the dippers over especially in their own back yard.Poor display but 3 points is 3 points.Incidentally we have won more games than they have at Anfield this season.
