he's within his rights to think that Carrick will deal with that, what do you want him to do, come in case Carrick doesn't, but what if the Stoke player beats Carrick and then it's an open net

The thing is, it wasn't a high cross. He probably should have battered both of them and got the ball.

Baffles me when teams continuously cross the ball against Stoke, yet again we're doing it as well...
 
Rafael should never be shaping up to shoot from there. Needs to be more patient and look for the pass, because there were passes available there.
