Its hard not to like the South Americans at our club... and Chico too.

Think if he stays fit he could really cement himself in the starting 11. He's played well in pretty much every game he's played for a while now, just like last season except his only problem was getting injured after having a good run in the team. He has it in him to become our best midfielder IMO, and fill the gap we have there. Very mobile, strong, good passing range, good dribbling and not afraid to run with the ball to carry it forward.

Box-to-box

My internet is shit and that gif took ages to load, watching it frame by frame in a super slo-mo effect is hilarious.

I liked Ando's decision making today. He has a tendency to hit the hollywood ball but any time he attempted one, it was spot on and you couldn't fault him for trying. Other times, he would unnecessarily attempt them. I hope to see more of this from him as I always believed he could iron out his decision-making.

His took up some good positions as well. Peeling wide, showing for the ball, driving it forward. It was a bit of a short cameo but very promising. Needs to stay fit

Looked superb in his 20 mins on the pitch. No idea why he sits on the bench while Scholes starts; absolutely ridiculous.

I guess SAF's thinking was Stoke would sit back and we would need someone like Scholes to pick the passes to pull them all over the place. So simple answer i dont think it was the type of game Anderson was needed for, but i expect him to start midweek

I think he is easing both him Cleverley(and fletcher for obvious reasons) into the season. Last year he maybe over used both of them at the start.

Hope so. We need to be giving him more minutes.

Yep. One of the main reasons he was on the bench ahead of Cleverley today. Cleverley's played more games than him in the league so far this season and I can see both players featuring against Braga, possibly with Fletcher again.

So in every appearance this season he has been good.

Time for a run of games for Anderson.

Anderson: I want to stay with Man Utd and prove myself Read more at http://www.tribal

Anderson says he's determined to reach his potential at Manchester United.

The Brazil midfielder has struggled for form and fitness over the last two years.

“I’ve been here for five years and I’m very happy here,” he told ManUtd.com. “Sometimes I have had difficult moments at the club, but I’ve always got through those moments and everyone has always helped me – the manager, my team-mates, the staff and the fans. I know this is the best club for me."

Good one Ando!!!

I don't even know why, but Ando has always been one of my favorite players, ever since he joined the club... I hope he goes on to be a star for us.

Nice little cameo at the end of the match. Some really nice long cross balls. But what I liked the most was how he looks to carry the ball forward and take the ball into the space before him if it opens up. It adds that extra dynamic to the team and extra threat.

Think we'll need him against Chelsea, think we need to use counter attacking football in that game and his ability to be solid in the middle and carry the ball forward is what we'll need. Not sure I'd go for a narrow diamond as I think it's out wide that Chelsea can get exposed but centrally it should be carrick and ando as it gives the right balance between compactness and energy. Rooney and rvp definitely included and then we need two off, nani, Valencia, kagawa, clev and welbeck.

I think ando has shown enough this season to get a run of games now. Scholes has played well generally, and was good yesterday but we need to give clev and ando games an use him more of a safety net.

Hope the 3 we play in midfield against Braga includes Anderson, Cleverley and Fletcher.

I'm expecting there won't be, but I'd love to see a completion of his every touch against Stoke in a video. If not, I guess I could just download the full game and just watch from the moment he came on.

Yeah would be a good three though part of me is hoping giggs is in there otherwise can see him against Chelsea, which probably won't go well.

Would like to see him start next weekend. It's not like he hasn't played and performed well in big games previously.

I think Fergie is still questioning his fitness levels. If he starts Tuesday, he will not start against Chelsea

He's capable of some fantastic passes. He sent a ball out to the wing yesterday that was Scholes-esque. Needs consistency, that's all.

He can be great at delivering balls like that, but as Solius said he's just lacked consistency so far. One ball can arrive perfectly and the next be overhit.

We play Braga on Tuesday and Chelsea on Sunday. Even with Anderson's fitness levels he should be able to manage starting both.

Has looked in decent form recently as has Cleverley. I'd play him against Chelsea over Kagawa and go with the same side as Newcastle away.

This!

Under Ferguson, United has been all about pace in attack, especially wingers and fullbacks (bar Neville). With Ando, we have a winger's pace in central midfield, and that opens up the play immensely; both in terms of playing that through ball to the strikers, but also for that late ball out to a winger who then crosses in when the defense is out of balance.

Cleverley does this well also, but Anderson has more pace and power in his play. Cleverley is arguably even better at one touch play. To me, they complement each other very well, well except for that whole defending thing, but it seems like united ain't too focused on that atm anywhooo

Absolutely. I always talk about this - Anderson, on his good days, makes our midfield far more dynamic. He's the only one with those capabilities, really.

Honestly think the feckwits we have on TV, bar Neville and a couple others, dont know how to analyse games properly. Basically my only answer kouroux. You would think as the game has evolved, so would analysis in a more sophisticated sense but I digress.

His good days are few and far between.

you could easily say - Anderson on his every so often bad days - makes our midfield lightweight and sluggish

Far between what? Certainly not bad games as he's been overall very good since the start of last season when called upon. Problem is his injury record, but hopefully he's left that behind

I think the main tests for Anderson are staying fit and how he performs in tight games. He's always been good in games where there is space to exploit but it's games where the other team are well organized etc and more patience is required that he struggles imo.

I think it's quite the opposite actually.

He excels at holding the ball up using his big ol' Brazilian booty and great quick touch football in tight situations. It's the way he exploits any sort of space in these games that makes him stand out.

When we're getting pressed, the likes of Scholes and Carrick can be too conservative in their movement and passing whereas Anderson has that bit of explosiveness in him to make something happen.

In the games he is left space like the ones you are suggesting he performs well in, I think he can be guilty of having a little bit too much time to think and he doesn't quite have the experience yet to know when is good to contain and when is good to try that key pass. In the tighter games it comes a bit more naturally.

Fair enough, I think it's open, end to end games where he excels and in the tighter games he tries to force the issue and ends up loosing the ball. When I say tighter games I mean games where teams park the box and sit back rather than look to press us.
