Anderson

I think he'll start on Sunday on the back of his sub appearance this weekend.

Needs a game. Think he should feature against Chelsea?

I'm not sure he's been playing enough week in week out for a big game like that.

I would have thought Braga would have been the perfect opportunity to give him some game time because I see Scholes playing on Saturday. It's all a bit strange. He's looked very good whenever he's played this season yet he's played very little. Given that, i wouldnt start him against Chelsea but I would begin to start him regularly in league/cl games.

It's a shame really because I don't fancy Scholes vs Chelsea.

Carrick - Clev - Anderson would be my choice against Chelsea but I'm sure either of Scholes or Giggs will start.

He should play, as should Clevs. It wouldnt work out with Scholes just sitting deep and passing to the wingers (esp. since we probably dont play with any)

I think Ando definately deserves a start V Chelsea, but it seems like Ando/Fletcher won't be getting much of a chance in the PL at least until the CL Group stages are over with. Fergie seems to be happy giving them 1 game a week consistently at the moment.

Seems a bit similar to the Nani situation, Fergie just isn't interested in playing him anymore.

I thought last night would have been perfect for him but it seems not.

There's no way we'll see him against Chelsea either. It'll probably be Scholes - Cleverley/Rooney (depending if Valencia plays) - Carrick.

I think he's quite pissed off at being on the bench and will probably look for a move if he doesn't break through properly this season.

Between him and Nani I think he looks less interested in staying. The difference in reaction to the goals said a lot yesterday. Both were on the bench and Nani was screaming and jumping when we scored and Anderson just sat there and clapped a few times, hardly even broke a smile.

I may be reading too much into it, but the contrast was staggering. He just looked like he couldn't give a shit that we scored, not saying he doesn't, just that he didn't look like he did.

He didn't look very happy on the bench at all. When we scored, he was the only one from Ferdinand, Welbeck, himself and Giggs that wasn't really celebrating. He just stood up, quick clap and then sat down again.

Hopefully he'll see SOME game time against Chelsea. His energy and ability to attack the space could be useful if it's not going our way.

I agree. I was surprised he didn't feature at all. He's only played 20 minutes in the last three matches so there's little chance of him playing against Chelsea like you say. I'm not surprised he looks annoyed about it.

Is that you, Boss?

He was happy at our third goal. Are you not appeased? FFS, you lot look for anything as a sign.

I was sure he'd start yesterday, it was the ideal game for him tog et 90 minutes under his belt, I don't really understand why he didn't get any playing time as he's looked sharp when he's gotten his brief chances this season.

That doesnt mean anything, just down to personality or mood. Its like Valencia with his muted goal celebrations, doesnt mean he doesnt care, just means he isnt as demonstrative about his happiness. Its the same with me at home as well, sometimes when we score it causes me to shout out loud - I have even been known to jump up and dance about the room with the kids. Sometimes I dont register my delight outwardly at all. Doesnt mean my enthusiasm for Manchester United is waxing and waning.

He doesn't look happy on the bench? fecking hell, that's what is expect. Is he meant to be jumping with joy or something? I'm positive if Fergie remembers Spurs, he'll start.

I thought it was odd he didn't start against Stoke and then didn't play at all against Braga, given he wasn't on international duty he should have been fit and he's not done anything to warrant limited game time, with clev playing both games for England I would have thought Ando might have got the nod over him. Can't see him starting the Chelsea game on the weekend now but he'll play against them next week in the league cup.

It's different though if your part of the team, it matters more and Ando seems a lot more outward than the likes of Valencia. Always smiling, doing the wee Brazilian shuffle etc.

But I get what your saying anyway.

Edit: He was apparently celebrating the third goal as well.

We need his drive and impetus in midfield from the break on Sunday. We won't be successful with a couple of static mids holding a deeper position trying to pick out a pass for a few half-chances. IMO

Hopefully by the time he tires, we will have a satisfactory result and can bring on Scholes to dictate the tempo of play.

Carrick-Clev-Ando as a midfield makes perfect sense to me really. Carrick can do the defensive work. Clev has very good workrate and always puts in a shift. Give Anderson the job of running at the opponents and creating the space for other players.

That could work well but I think we could drop Rooney into the attacking mid position and then use one of the wingers/strikers either side off rvp.

Anderson has, based on performances, deserved game time just as much as Cleverley this season. He deserves more chances, and I hope to see him on the pitch against Chelsea. Its about time we see how it works out with all of Carrick, Cleverley and Ando on the pitch on the same time as well. Cleverley wont be playing central if we do this though, but halfway on the wing to add some kind of width.

I'm sure SAF is just worried about his injury record and wants to give him as much chance of possible to build up towards the end of the season. If he stays fit I fully expect him to be one of the main men from January onwards in our push.

Makes sense really.

Logic. I salute you.

We would need his dynamism in the midfield on Sunday. He really should start along with Carrick. A midfield of Carrick and Scholes is a scary prospect against the Chelsea attack and defense.

Carrick-Ando-Clev should get the go ahead in this game.

You may or may not be right in your opinion, but a players reaction to a goal scored, especially the selective 2 seconds shown on TV can never be indicative of a players commitment to a club!!!! Yes, i think you are reading way too much into it.

In fact I can argue it easily the other way ... if Im not playing, I don't want the team do do that well as I want to play and be the hero myself!

Isn't that how we set up at the beginning of last season?

Then it would have been with wingers & Rooney up front, no?
