SC Braga vs. Manchester United

Yeah, it does really make a difference for us not playing any of Scholes, Carrick or Cleverley. Should still win this, but a Giggs/Anderson midifield doesn't make too much sense.

Those who were arguing that Cleverley didn't have a good, important performance against Arsenal, this is the difference. No rhythm, slow tempo, no-one really pulling their formation out of shape.

Pretty boring so far. Pick it up, lads.

We've been playing like this away in Europe for years. Last year being the exception.

Very odd how a single mis-placed pass seems to expose our midfield completely. Not convinced Giggs, Rooney and Ando know who is supposed to be the 'anchor' player...

In fairness, none of them should be playing there. They're all converted attackers.

Braga are doing well defending the right. Always have more than two players out there watching Valencia and Nani.

Means we should have space on the left, but need to move the ball faster.

Ddg. :)

This pitch is too long. Very wet and heavy. Suits Braga because as you can see they lift almost every pass more than fifteen yards or so, but it's slowing our passing down horribly. Also means our players don't seem to have any acceleration, heavy heels all over the place.

Seeing Welbz walking around the middle just makes me want to shout "GET BACK TO YOUR WING!!!" over and over again...

The guy is an enigma.

It's so not an enigma for anyone who pays attention. He needs to start with Carrick/Fletcher and Cleverley/Scholes. One ticker-over, one who brings tempo and guile, and one who can provide something a bit special. This isn't Anderson's fault at the moment, it's Fergie's. Is resting a couple of players really worth this happening every CL away game?

flicking over to the Celtic game

I've yet to see Celtic in possession at the 4th or 5th attempt

doing well to be winning

Giggs playing as a defensive midfielder. We really have seen it all now, haven't we?

If we're winning late one day, would be great to give him a shift in goal. Round out the career.

Pathetic reaction. Can't believe he got a yellow for that.
