Looking at our performances alone, you would never think we were top of the league. Just when I thought we couldn't have a worse half than spurs, liverpool, braga we somehow managed it.
The only difference between this and the Braga first half is Scholes is more adept at long balls than the lads who started midweek. Same cak being served up.

It's not really the winger's fault. Your playing two widemen who like to put crosses in and you're playing a style that doesn't allow them to. Valencia can't beat a man from a standng position like Nani can. In fact, few players can. Pass it around positively and open up space to give your wide players better positions to pass from. Passing it so slowly and allowing Villa to cover all the bases and not give us an inch reduces the effectiveness of the wide players.
Get into half-time at 0-0 and let Fergie change something or shout at them to wake them up.
No but Scholes is still better than them. There are problematic aspects to his game because of his age, though there always have been with him.
But even today when he's been poor by his standards, he's still controlled the game in a way none of those others can do, and played some effortless long balls that only Anderson can, and that not consistently.
