Reading vs. Manchester United

I reckon he was accidentally promoted.

I wasn't the only one on this thread who though Jones as AM was not a good substitution.

The problem is Jones's positioning, vision and passing is no where near the calibre required for that role to replace Anderson.

Jonny Evans is the weakest link by far. Responsible for all 3 goals (at least partly), he is really the key reason why we have conceded so many this year. We desperately need Vidic back. I don't see why Evans gets to start ahead of Smalling or Jones either. Rafael made the scapegoat but I guess Fergie was protecting him and didn't want to give the referee a chance of sending him off.

Absolutely crazy game with poor poor defending from both sides. On the Positives, some great interplay between Rooney and RVP. Nice to see Fletcher coming along well. Anderson is an absolute stud but as usual, just when he is rounding into form he gets hurt. Its just a fecking travesty.

Half of the season (excitement wise, not overall quality). Awful defending, great attacking. Wouldn't be surprised if this finished like this or 5-3 to us, wi smalling and jones on for Rafael and Anderson. Anderson coming off is a huge loss though IMO. Was in amazing form and was becoming our best midfielder, hope he comes back soon.

I bet there won't be a single goal scored in the second half.
I hope we do.. It'll be nervy if we try to see out being just 1 goal ahead. They have shown they can score from set pieces.

I like Jones but why isn't Clevs coming on? TBF anyone would of been pissed coming off that early. Rafa is young, don't blame him being upset.

Good game of cricket this. umpires called it a day due to poor lighting. We win via the Duckworth–Lewis-Ferguson method.

Highly entertaining first half. Though lots of things to be worried over. Defence are all over the place during set pieces and Lindegaard isn't exactly filling me with confidence right now.

Then we have Anderson's back injurry. I expect SAF will have some stern words with a few players during the break. Hopefully we keep the goals flowing and our defence stop conceding

Presumably Cleverley is being kept till half time when he'll replace Fletch

Just this week Fergie spoke about how clean sheets win you titles.

What a load of shit.

God I hope Lindegaard gets subbed at half time. I cant take another half of football like this.

Fletcher has been absolutely diabolical out there in the first half. I can't for the life of me understand why he's been selected ahead of Cleverley for any match that actually matters as things stand.

Shambolic but entertaining half, I have no idea why Jones was chosen to come on for Ando, we could have just used Clevs or brought on Welbeck and moved Rooney more central.

I have to agree he is merely a passenger. It's been a really odd half!

I don't get why players who've had a bad game dare to show such disrespect when coming off - hope Rafael isn't in the matchday squad for a few games to teach him a lesson.

Being unhappy is one thing but being a sulky cnut is another, just shake hands, sit in your seat and sulk once you've sat down.

What a load of shit.

I have honestly lost count of how many mistakes he makes almost every match we concede.

Obviously the blame doesn't just fall upon him alone. However, we can talk about our slow midfields not protecting the back four all we want..but Evans is no Vidic and we have conceded a shitload with him in the back four.

I remember Fergie from the season review was it 01/02 when he said "At the start of the season I take 4-3 over 1-0, but at the end 1-0 over 4-3"

fecking hell, that was entertaining. I know our defense was pretty shit but this half was really one of those.. 4-3...

Rooney should be more central.

Lindegaard needs to grow a pair and command his area.

Jones should be further behind. Shouldnt be the one just behind RVP.

People asking for Cleverley its obvious we need him for the City game now with Anderson looking out for that game, so its sensible to protect him. Also Jones gives us the bonus of being able to defend set pieces.

Looking forward to a media shit storm over the introduction of goal-line technology. Or is that saved for England and Chelsea games.

Disagree with Rooney being central, we have no winger on the right side, and we would lack width.

Jones will have to play behind RvP, or maybe Fletcher will be pushed up.

Vidic looked no better when starting this season and I doubt he will come back the same player now on the wrong side of 30 after so long out. He isn't going to make a difference. I dare say we would be conceding more if his showings this season are anything to go by.
