Manchester United vs. Sunderland

Brilliant first half and a very complacent second. We're going to be in deep trouble IF Carrick gets injured this season.

We could have conceded 5 goals this half. Sunderland have overrun us since the oldies have come on.
Yes but he knew the victory was in the bag so gave our 2 main midfielders rest with out whom we normally struggle.

Good result. Some people will never be happy.
Some are obviously wumming

I don't mind seeing Scholes and Giggs out there today. They need the minutes to gear up for the next few games.

My only complaint today is that we should really should have put away a few more goals. Good chances were wasted.

Scholes and giggs are not good enough to start anymore, and to be honest they are struggling right now with even 20 minutes on the field.

Im afraid its got to be hanging boot up time, they are sadly becoming liabilities and shadows of there formers selves.

I find myself getting fustrated when they are on, it ruins there legacy.

Really doubting the benefits of having Scholes in our team. He once used to be the master of possession football, but these days he often gives the ball away.

Valencia was also poor tonight, holding on to the ball for far too long when he could just cross it in.

On the positive side, Rooney looked lively and was unlucky to not have a few more goals. Jones was also impressive, and it was nice to see Vidic back in action.

For all you Fergie haters out there, this is exactly the kind of game you would put Giggs and Scholes on for.

A comfortable win in the bag = solid management.

Fergie haters? wow. It's called being tactically balanced.

They arent starting for a reason.
Game was won. They know how to see games out. Job done.

Nobody here hates sir alex so stop being so sensationalist.
Scholes OR Giggs would have been fine, both together in a midfield two is potentially disastrous as I'm sure you just saw for yourself.

SAF knew the win was inevitable so he used players he knew could hold it to the end and rested the ones he needed if the situation was different

Good win. Being 6 points in the lead, a win is the priority here. Keep up the winning momentum.

We should have won by more than 2 goals but I'm not that disappointed like many in here.

Good first half performance, some of the play from Cleverley, RVP and Rooney was superb. Second half was a bit disappointing and we gave De Gea way too much work to do, still 3 points is the main thing and no injuries.

Some of you need to cop the feck on. Comfortable 3 points and still complaining.

Just because we won it means people are not allowed to 'complain'?

There are many ways we can improve, and if fans want to question tactics/player performances they are well within their rights to do so.

Great football in the first half to win the game.
Defensive shield (carrick) goes off at HT.. We go 3 up.

Fit defensive leader (Rio) is replaced by rustly Vidic. We concede soon after.
After that, the game was predictable.

We didnt want to make any mistake and concede again. Sunderland threw more forward.
We still created the better chances.. just didnt score more.

As long as Carrick isnt injured, no real negatives. Plenty of positives.

Some great football and passing.
Vidic is back and Jones is back at his mental best.

I get that, and I do agree this has to be their last season, but they're both still decent players to come off the bench in what we Americans call "garbage time", which it truly was today. Better to risk Giggs and Scholes to injury in garbage time, than risk Cleverley and Carrick right?

So that should come at the cost of letting Sunderland back in the game and potentially conceding more goals? I agree if we were more clinical, it wouldn't have mattered, but I guarantee you this kind of nonsense is going to bite us in the ass.

It's a shame people are going to wait until something bad happens instead of spotting the danger.

You miserable bunch
We played some great football and won... and Liverpool lost.
The weekend to look forward to. Enjoy yourselves.

I'm off :D

Claiming "scandalous management" = hate. "Hate" in the casual, not literal sense of the word. No one here actually "hates" Fergie in the sense that one might hate Hitler or the shooter in Connecticut, but to constantly flog Fergie is a kind of hate, at least in contemporary usage of word, at least in the US.

The Fergie flogging here really is embarrassing.

The problem in the second half was poor finishing. And a poor reaction (on the goal) by Smalling, who otherwise was excellent on the day.

Another 3 points in the bag and a good week before the next game.Shame we conceded but that's what happens when you don't follow the ball out.Vidic is back and the dippers got stuffed at home.Pretty good day. :D

Fukk all that. We were NEVER in danger of losing this match.

Taking Cleverley and Carrick off was a wise precaution against injury. One could reasonably argue Fletcher deserved time before Giggs or Scholes, but it's way over the top to have a go at Fergie today.

Enjoy the win, lads. Find something real to bitch and moan about.

Points in the bag and a good performance all around. Great spell in the first half where we scored 2 goals and probably should have had 3.

Second half I thought we took the foot off the gas a bit. We were a bit more open when we threw on Scholes and then Giggs. It just made us alot weaker in midfield and Scholes it seems nowadays can't cope with opposition pressing him hard.

I was very impressed with Ashley Young who has gone from strength to strength. Seems his form is picking up and had a few nice crosses including the lucky one that ended up at RVP's feet via o shea.

Obviously the big plus today is that we finally have Vidic back. He looked 100% fit again and Im just glad he finally has put the knee issues behind him. We definately should be keeping more clean sheets now that he is back in the fold.

A good win and so important to keep the gap against citeh.

I'd like to be in this place after a win and see some happiness. This negativity and continual nit picking is a tad depressing. Do fans of other clubs complain so much after comfortable wins?

I'm so happy.:D:devil:
RvP and Rooney looking class and both on the score sheet is fantastic.
Jones and smalling so solid.Cleverley was great.Valencia was shit.
Cant wait to see Kagawa next game!

Saf post match said he was happy with the way we played for an hour , but was unhappy at the way we let Sunderland back in the game.

 Can you imagine fans of any other club being disappointed with a comfortable win to take them back to 6 points clear at the top of the table? Most fans of other teams would give anything for that, and yet we still have people moaning.

It'd be absolutely amazing to see any general happiness from our fans after a win... some on here never seem to be happy.

It was a comfortable win. Be happy about it.

We've literally got the most spoilt fans on the planet.

This football forum is full of moaning cocks. Seriously. They're the type of sad bastards that would win millions on the lottery and complain about not getting their pound back.

It's almost as if it's become cool to complain about everything single little thing, after every game, irrespective of the result. I blame those who have complained in funny ways over the last season or two, it's infected everyone. I blame Noodle, mostly.

There aren't many clubs that win as much as United does, but the ones there are, will have as many spoilt fans as you have. I see exactly the same thing in Porto forums. It's just in the nature of the modern fan.

That said I do think it makes for a more interesting forum than a bunch of people agreeing and posting the same that was posted above in different words.

I know its what you do mate, but I wouldn't even be trying to make light of this situation. It's beyond a joke now. Just typical of the absolutely spoilt cnuts that society has vomited upon us normal folk. A good 3 points against a decent team, 6 points clear, getting to see some good football and it's Christmas.

Whinging bastards, I'd ban the lot of them.

I agree.

Some proper miserable people on here.
