Welbeck didn't play bad no doubt but I feel that Rooney is still the better player and offers more of a goal threat.

I know we are in a lucky position to have so many great players but not choosing the very best of what we have in such a game seems a bit of a mistake I would say.
 
This is how it usually goes in Europe. Go back and think off all the tournaments. There is always one match up decided by a horrible ref.

Pretty standard stuff.

Was an amazing game up until he chose to ruin it.
 
Proud of the lads out there, but what a sickening way to go out. UEFA won't have a damn thing to say about it, either.
 
Is there still glory to be had in winning this competition? I mean fecking hell, I want to stay sane but this is just too much to handle.

I think this ref might have some trouble getting off the pitch, hes gonna have a whole squad and staff after him.
 
Feel for fergie. Can tell he planned so well for these games. We didn't get sucked in tonight, held firm and got the lead, such a job well done and its ruined in a split second because some daft cnut wants his name in headlights.

Fantastic effort by the lads tonight. Heroic. Really unlucky and can be very proud of themselves.
 
The ref has ruined this but let's be honest this task would have been one hell of a lot easier had our best player started.

You have to question whether after the luck Rentboys had last season that UEFA have had it in for English clubs this season.We all know what they think of us,Platini and his cronies
