Manchester United vs. Reading

Poor performance, crap game. Got the win, 15 points clear, no injuries. Job done.

Another clean sheet is a positive. Rio-Vidic are still our best CB pairing.

4 wins and a draw will do.

3 wins and a draw will do if we beat city

That was just hard to watch. Terrible game to watch, and the only positives for us were Vidic, Rio and being 15 points ahead. All of our attackers were off their game, Rvp still can't get a goal, Smalling is atrocious on the ball, and Welbeck was a bit shit I thought.

Whatever, 15 points ahead, all that matters. Title in the bag :)

Great to be 15 pts ahead in the league, but that was a shithouse performance from the team. Seemed like we were going through the motions all match and it took us about 85 minutes before we pulled off a decent move that threatened their keeper.

Very lethargic performance and hopefully it is one off. We still have a difficult fixture away at stamford bridge so maybe they were saving their legs for that one (and the fecking stupid international friendlies).

Smalling plays like he's special. Hands and feet flying all over the place.

I think we really missed Rafael today, our natural outlet was the right wing and smalling has 0 creativity.

But hey it's another win, that's the main thing.

Some right pussies, Reading never looked like scoring, had one decent shot in the 90 mins. Obviously we can play better but yeah it's a typical script.

We played a bit shit but this must be even more infuriating for the rest of the league that we're 15 points ahead.

Nothingness game, but a comfortable stroll.

Ridiculous lead now, 15 points with 9 to go, 13goals better than City. About as rosy as it gets.

We havea bit more space to rest players for the Chelsea replay now.
Chelsea don't have that luxury in the race for top 4.

Smalling really isn't a fullback is he? A shame he keeps getting put out there but at least he is getting some playing time. Important for his development.

seriously how much better has our defense been since Vidič came back?
Anyone who thinks he isn't our best defender (no mather how reliable Evans has been or how good a season Rio's having) must be blind or something.

I'd really like someone to check our defensive goal record before and after Vidič came back for good.

He's just useless in games like this where there is virtually no pressure on the defence. He offers nothing going forward, and to make it worse we kept giving it to him.

I couldn't agree more.

Evans is a great third back, but let's not confuse him with the world's best central defender, Nemanja Vidic.

Predictable we may be, but this season was always more about winning the league whatever the case rather than anything else.

Maybe this summer will bring more of a 'flair' player to liven things up a bit.

Yup, been saying that since he's come back. Vidic organizes our whole defensive line and we look so much tighter at the back. With Rio and Evans there, there's always a mistake waiting to happen and our defence is all over the place, but with Vidic in for one of them we just instantly look solid. Our best defender by a mile.

we havent conceded in close to 10hrs in the premiership. says it all.

For a team fighting for survival Reading were pretty shit, ESPN were bigging up their performance but they were wank, especially considering they were playing against an unbalanced weakened and clearly half-arsed United side. They stuck 9 men behind the ball most of the game, then threw some aimless crosses in. I don't know how that goes down as them "making it tough".

we came from being (I think) the 16th defensive team to 3rd (and Chelsea have a game in hand compared to United with 1 goal less).

the scoreline makes it seem that way I guess, we did only beat them by 1 goal, it was actualy both teams playing like pure crap and United losing that battle.

The people going on about Hernandez, SAF already explained it was due to him having to play two International games, same with Valencia and Kagawa.

not starting (or playing at this point) Valencia doesn't merrit an excuse.

They didn't have a single shot on target. ESPN were being rather bizarre about the match.
