Chelsea vs. Manchester United

As bad as Nani has been, others have been just as shit and there has barely been a word said in the thread about them, and those players haven't been absent a month with injury.

Nani easily our worst player today, Cleverley also poor.

Everyone else either very good or decent.

0-0 is fairly fair so far. Even half with us controlling the early periods and then Chelsea slightly edging the later bits of the half. Real chances were few and far between. An early goal just after half time would be great

Chelsea are there for the taking

A few tweaks - RVP for Hernandez, Kagawa for Cleverley and we'll win this

Welbeck is doing really well and you can see Luiz is scared to take him on - we need to focus on attacking bertrand - with Nani and Valencia we should be doing better there

Started to warm up a bit towards the end of the half.

Despite what people are saying, Nani is getting more into the game, I still think he will be the difference today.

Watch him get subbed at HT

De Gea, back four and Carrick/Jones great.

If our attacking players were having better matches we might be ahead. Nani having a shocker but still a threat. Cleverley not really causing them any danger. Welbeck brilliant first 25 but then faded whilst Hernandez has grown into the game.

Loads of our players playing shit, says how poor Chelsea have been as well.

You reckon? Nani's had one of his worst games in a United shirt but aside from that I think no-one's let the team down. Even then Nani's had a few really nice moments that the commentators have bizarrely missed. Jones, Smalling and Welbeck have all been practically faultless. Cleverley and Valencia have done everything you could ask of them in uncomfortable positions. Rio and De Gea have just been their usual selves v Chelsea, Evra's led the side well and Hernández has worked their defence every which way.

Can't believe the commentators haven't mentioned that both teams' passing games have been off because the pitch is a right state.

Didnt think Nani was too bad. Match day threads being fun as always.

Cleverly needs to move into the midfield. He's dire on the wing

He is dire quite a lot can only imagine how much better as a team we would be replacing him with a Modric.

The defence, Carrick and welbeck are our only good players. Cleverley non existent. Nani just bad. Bring on Rvp

Hopefully Nani will take a few breaths at the half, he can be great but has been poor so far.

fecking A. I know Nani is a player that polarises opinion among United fans, but the criticism of him is a little tiresome now. Cleverley has been pretty poor (although he's playing a little out of position), Hernandez hasn't been as sharp as he should be and Jones, is well, Jones, when playing midfield.

Still though, Nani is a pub league player according to some.

It was an attempted pen. Bertrand made a grab for him but missed. Too shit to give away a penalty!

What I'm saying is it's a foul on Bertrand to begin with so you can't exactly call for a penalty on Nani when Nani did exactly what Bertrand tried to to get in front of him in the first place.

De Gea has come well for crosses all half and has stopped anything that has come in his direction.

I still don't know what Cleverley's doing playing wide left when we have a fully rested Giggs on the bench.

Jones is also nowhere near as good as Yaya Toure. And Welbeck is dire. Let's replace him with Messi.

It's been a boring half, but I reckon the floodgates will open in the second.

I can see Powell/Vermijl coming on.

Welbeck has been great until the usual nose bleed area. Slipping and mistimed passes at the vital time. We looked better at the end there.

When has he even received the ball in a decent area? He's the only one of our advanced players doing anything with the ball. The service to him has been shocking.

I think your expectations of what he can and can't do are clouding your judgements.

:wenger:

Jones has been excellent. 100% passing accuracy and that's with him pinging passes into Welbeck and spraying outside of the foot passes out to Hernández.

you'd think all of the players had played 2 days ago!

Damp squid so far, but if we can just sneak a goal and win I couldn't care less!
Doesn't look likely so far.

Defence looking very strong again. Carrick and Welbeck good as usual, too.

"De Hoya" feck off chiles you tit.

Carrick is taking the piss out there, it's all looking just so effortless. Jones and Valencia have done very well too I felt. Chelsea look tired despite having rested almost all their players, maybe with the right substitutions (Cleverley -> Kagawa, Hernandez -> RVP) we can go through.
Pleased with our defensive shape yet again!

Nani's starting to grow into the game, so I wouldn't panic too much.

Welbeck has been absolutely fantastic.

Jones and Welbeck are playing pretty well.

Nani isn't playing too well, but he's the type who'll have spells like that, as playing well for him isn't just simple passes and tackles. You have to allow it with flair players.

He's probably the most likely to create something.
