How I'd love to see that. It however will not be that.
Valencia will play, as will Jones.
:nervous:

de Gea
Rafael Ferdinand Evans Evra
Valencia Carrick Cleverley Welbeck
Rooney van Persie

Don't expect a great performance.

If Nani and Kagawa aren't two of the front four, we're guaranteed more tumescent shit.

Why can't we just put out the best XI we have instead of playing lads out of position, fail to take off these said lads when it's obvious they're struggling, and just out and play proper football for a change? It's fecking infuriating.

Team should be...

GK: DDG

RB: Rafael
CB: Ferdinand
CB: Vidic
LB: Evra

RM: Valencia
CM: Carrick
CM: Cleverley
LM: Kagawa

CF: Rooney
CF: RVP

Subs: Lindegaard, Jones, Smalling, Giggs, Nani, Welbeck, Hernandez

Valencia Carrick Cleverley Nani
Kagawa
Van Persie

Didn't watch the game today because of an exam but from what I read, I doubt Rooney will play after being poor today. Kagawa has to play after his recent form, in the hole preferably, and hopefully Nani gets a run in the team to convince him to stay. Doubt it though, Welbeck will probably start. Hope its a good win.

Edit: feck, just realized I'll be missing this one as well because of an exam that day :( fecking monday games, always hated them.

don't expect City to beat Spurs. In fact if Spurs win, we can take the title beating Villa.

Why would anyone count on spurs getting a result during the period they're known for bottling?

We should expect that we have to do it ourselves. Any dropped City points is then simply a bonus.

Bale might be back right? If so, there's a chance. Spurs are at home as well, and are fighting for top 4. Hope they get at least a draw.

I would suggest Nani instead of Valencia but it seems Fergie just simply does not want to play him.

I'm going to say 2-1. We'll make hard work of what should be the easiest fixture of the season (well just about).

Ashley Young will get a miracle boost of fitness, come on as a sub and score a screamer then Antonio Valencia will set up Wayne Rooney and everyone will breathe a sigh of relief in victory and wingers contributing.

*Disclaimer...this may be a bit farfetched.

Smalling really struggled against Benteke in the away fixture. Is it too much to wish for Vida again. Would be 4 games in a row though :nervous:

my lineup would be

-----------------------de gea--------------------------

rafael---------vidic-------------evans----------evra

nani---------carrick-----------cleverley--------kagawa

-------------rooney------------van persie------------

save rio for arsenal, play vidic to mark benteke. rio-evans can do the job at the emirates.

not sure whether fergei will start with nani and cleverley though, both of them are not getting much games these days. another chance for kagawa to clock up more minutes, he is starting to look much more at home now.

Rio handled Benteke much better than Smalling last time, maybe he will get a rest though

Villa are in the middle of a decent run right now and received only further with Sunderland's win over Newcastle, whereas we...well we are flat and plodding.

A couple of years ago i recall Sunderland coming to OT at the sharp end of the season and walking away with a point, the team will need to do better than recently to avoid a similar repeat [or worse].

Jones----Rio------Vidic-------Evra----

Nani-------Carrick-----Cleverley----Giggs-

One of Ferdinand and Vidic will start (probably the former) and I expect Cleverley to finally be given a start again. This game might be where we see a little bit more rotation in the attacking areas... Perhaps Hernandez and Welbeck to start along with Kagawa and Rooney. Robin has two in two now and will want the golden boot, but maybe his lack of goals was a bit more down to fatigue so this opportunity to bench him might be worth it in preparation for Arsenal and Chelsea.

5-0

Kagawa hasn't been totally brilliant, but he's still been our best player in the past few weeks, so he really has to play. I'd be surprised to see him on the bench after the contribution he has made to our overall play. I'd like to see RvP given a breather, and have Kagawa behind Rooney like against Norwich. It looks like we;re using Rooney as a utility player with little purpose. He's a striker, so he could do with playing up top to get some confidence back, and hopefully grab a goal or two.

We should threat this game as a cup final, biggest game of the season and if we win then only 3 more points will be needed.

DDG, Rafael, Rio, Vidic, Evra, Valencia, Carrick, Cleverley, Welbeck, Kagawa, RvP

What I expect to see:

DDG
Rafael - Rio - Vidic - Evra
Carrick - Jones
Valencia - Rooney - Welbeck
RvP

What I would like to see:

(Same back 5, maybe Jones as center back if Vidic can't play)

Carrick - Cleverley
Nani - Kagawa - Welbeck
Chicharito/RvP

I see many of you reckon Valencia should be dropped after scoring his first goal in yonks and having his best performance in ages, finally looking like he's getting a bit of confidence back.

Glad you's aren't the manager.

He was poor last night, despite his tap-in.

No he wasn't. He showed so much improvement from his recent form - actually taking people on, beating the man, putting crosses in. I thought it was a decent, if unspectacular, performance.
