I pretty much agree with this. I think the reason he's not a Caf favourite is that - and I hate these terms - even though his bottom level is quite high, his top level isn't very high either. The result is that he doesn't have big swings in consistency as someone like Nani,
in comparison Young is fairly dependable and reliable which us why I think SAF trusts him a fair bit and uses him more often than not when he's fit. He doesn't have a lot of 9/10 or MOTM performances but I think he's a good squad player. Sometimes the criticism on here for him is way over the top.
Had his perfectly legitimate goal at the Etihad not been wrongly ruled offside he would have been the hero since he also assisted Rooney's first - fine margins. I also
