Agree with this. City's problems haven't been in defence. They have the most clean sheets and fewest goals conceded in the league. Their forward players have under performed this season

Not really, it's that those players are just tragic. Though you can add Dempsey to that list too. Spurs are just not good enough to finish in the top 4 and if it wasn't for Bale they'd be well adrift.
This formation by the so called tactical genius AVB is a clusterfeck, Neville spotted what was wrong after about 5 minutes.

The comparison with Vidic is such that he's our best defender by a country mile, but he's played less than half of our games this season, whilst Kompany has played more...yet City have kept the most clean sheets and lie miles behind in 2nd place.
There are more obvious issues with City this season, mainly goalscoring AND the fact they've been poor defensively with big Vinny. Their early season form wasn't too different to ours when he was fit, where they were conceding for fun.
His absence certainly is barely a viable excuse for the gap IMO. His own form and the form of their attacking players is why the gap is so big.
AVB needs to make a substitution at half time if they're going to get anything out of this.He also needs to give that useless lump up front a foot in the arse.
