Tonight proves why Mourinho should never manage at OT.

4-1 down. A home game to try and claw back the deficit. Yet a totally flat and inept performance. Some very basic examples were proven by Kaka. He passes the ball and fails to move. He then missed a chance, which went for a goal kick. Kaka was more interested in his hair than making a run to grab the ball from a ball boy and place it for the keeper to kick out. Following Madrids second goal, the players were more interested in celebrating than grabbing the ball and running to the half way line to get the game moving again. This kind of passion and aggression comes from the top down, and Mourinho fails to inspire this. This is the passion from the manager that ignites the crowd.

Imagine at Old Trafford under SAF? The crowd would be buzzing with how we go about our job of getting a 3-0 win.

I really hope the only time this lad ever sees the managers office at Old Trafford is when he is the visiting Chel$ki manager.

I think your point has fallen a bit flat as madrid did win 2-0, which is a brilliant result in a champions league semi final by all accounts.
 
With all due respect Real should have been about 4-0 up after 15 minutes....

Plus blimmin Dortmund were reduced to underhand cheaty tactics.

Plus they could have scored a few others.
 
Jaysus, you can't all be writing off Mourinho because Klopp outwitted him over the two legs?
Did you write off Ferguson when Barcelona outplayed United twice in two finals?
 
I thought this would at least be about Real Madrid's horrific antics.

Apparently that's fine though.

This. Also refereeing decision aside his team showed enough passion/opportunism to dump us out of the competition.
 
Any mistakes Mourinho made over the two legs are totally outweighed by the success he's already achieved. I have no doubt he's easily good enough to manage us, it's the other issues that might rule him out.
 
Stupid thread. They were shit in the first game, and undeniably a LOT better in this game. Obviously Mourinho fired the team up, they were fighting for everything, it's not his fault Ronaldo, Higuain and Ozil missed those chances in the first half is it?

Not taking a stand on the Mourinho debate, but I thought that Klopp showed his inexperience tonight, by bringing off Lewandowski and Kuba for two extra defensive players; that basically handed even more intiative to RM and the pressure in the last 10 minutes was insane and almost cost them.
 
So some people don't want continued success once fergie leaves? This guy delivers it! Can't win them all every year.

Yeah, I'd agree with you there. Klopp did show some inexperience tonight. Though, over the two legs his side were far superior.

If we'd been being managed by Mourinho for the last 2 or 3 years, what club would Welbeck be playing for?

Not United in my opinion.

How was them coming out strongly, but then dropping tempo after 20 minutes down to Mourinho. Or rather, a failure of Mourinho?

Christ I expect you want Fergie sacked for the Chelsea FA Cup Quarter Final home match.
 
Madrid is a circus, honestly whoever goes there always seems to end up either being fired or so miserable that they want out.

Don't get the point, they won 2-0 against a team that thrashed them in the 1st leg. One more goal and Madrid would of been in the final.

Thats the point. They dropped tempo to a complete standstill. Thats not United material.

Well... Trying to answer that for no apparent reason:

In my opinion, of all our young players including; Jones, Smalling, Evans, Rafael, Fabio, Buttner, Cleverley and Welbeck (am I missing someone?) Welbeck has the greatest natural footballing ability, but is also the most-likely to be shipped off to some other club in a few seasons time.

He's a bit lanky, he looks a bit injury prone, he's the most frustrating to watch when things go wrong, he's possibly the weakest or perhaps just looks it comparatively, and even when he does something well people are going to jump on his back.

He's a real gem who could become great, or a mid-table anomaly. In my opinion Welbeck needs to be handled very, very carefully. The only manager I'd trust to do that really is Fergie, possibly Wenger too.

Whether not being patient enough with young (infuriating) players is enough to stop people wanting Jose here is obviously up for debate, but its enough for me.

Exactly. If it weren't for poor finishing everyone would be hailing him as a tactical genius. Maybe he didn't deal wit hit very well as the match went on, but it was very nearly a completely different story.
 
Madrid scored 2 in the last 7 minutes today. When we were losing to Chelsea in the cup, we did feck all in the final minutes. Just lumped a few hopeful balls forward. There was certainly no drive or passion that day.

As for Mourinho failing to inspire, thats just madness.
