The Hawthorns, West Bromwich
Sunday 19th May 2013
KO - 16:00 BST

As a spectacle it's a non event, it's only significant as it's SAF's last gane as United manager.

It'll be emotional, but the result is irrelevant, although it would be nice to send of SAF on a winning note.

Going to be an emotional day for all involved. One of those games where you can look back in 50 years time and say 'I was there'.

Lets raise the roof off our end, and thank him in the only way we can.

The awards night is even before this match. Play the kids!

We've done the 'goodbye old players and manager' thing. Hell, even Ferdinand scored! West Brom should be the kids' show, the way we expected it to be before Fergie announced his retirement. After all, the senior players couldn't have looked much less fecked in the last few games, and it would be a nice symbolic gesture for Fergie to sign off by giving the likes of Powell and Januzaj a run-out.

Not a League Cup team, but a few youngsters getting a real chance to shine amongst the big boys.

If West Brom play like they did against Norwich, and Van Persie plays, I wouldn't be surprised to see him reach 30 league goals for the season.

I really hope Januzaj gets given a go. I think he'll relish the opportunity with the pressure off, and he'll be able to say he played a professional outing under Fergie, unless you include the Aberdeen friendly. Considering how highly Fergie has spoken of him in the past year or so, it would be quite fitting to really hand the future of Manchester United over to the youth, and give such a promising player the nod. Powell would be grand to see too.

Then shore it all up with Jones at CB. No chance of Lukaku getting a sniff if the The Wall himself is in the backline, and if Lukaku's lucky, he'll be able to walk himself off the pitch at full time without any life threatening injuries.

Another and of an era by the way. This will be the last match day thread before we move over to the new site in the summer. It promises to be a lot different next time.

What if pre-season starts before the update?

It is weird that there is still one game left.

If you ask me in 20 years time what SAF's last game was, I'll probably say Swansea at home...

I was offered free tickets to go to this game but can't make it as I have to be in Leeds for a wedding on the same day :(

-------------Lindegaard---------------
Rafael-------Rio------Vidic-----Buttner
---------------Carrick-----------------
-------Cleverley------Kagawa---------
Nani----------Chicharito-------Welbeck

Bench full of young lads.

Season feels SO OVER!!!! Can't imagine how the players will get themselves up for this game, let alone what their physical state is after all the emotions, partying and drinking and lack of training that has happened in past 10 days!

Surely SAF will play a team full of youngsters and torture Rooney with one final appearance ! It's going to be very weird atmosphere

Just noticed this isn't on tv. Pain on the balls to have to watch this on a stream. Particularly if Steve McManaman is involved.
