Evra is a 100% competitor, the only aspect of things Buttner's arrival have affected him is how we could afford to rest him when needed because other than that I don't think (judging Buttner as footballer taken into account) he would see his arrival as some sort of wake-up call.
It's just what I think tbh, Buttner isn't good enough (yet) to make a player like Evra worry about his playing time and therefore force him to improve his performances. He would have naturally been disappointed by how he played last season

I think it did a bit Evra said it himself:

Last hairdryer of the era. Perfect circumstances for one right now

Clearly though, Buttner is the weakest link. His first touch isn't the best and thats what cost us the goal. Great going forwards but still very unsure and suspect at the back.

Easy so far, though we're doing our best to make it a little more exciting.

Hernandez has been our best player in the first half - ironically, it's his finishing that let him down.

Valencia has been terrific too. Back to his old self. Even pulled off a nutmeg and a chipped pass.

Mine's so slow that Charlie Adam's lapped it.

So, not that it matters one tiny bit, but do we reckon the second half will be backs to the wall, with us clinging on to the win, or more gung-ho attacking football?

Chico with the moves like Jagger.

De Gea is a class above Lindegaard.
