I think a lot of people underrate Fellaini because he is so tall and often looks wooden and clumsy on the ball but it's undeniable that his physical presence is quite remarkable.
Someone also posted statistics here a while back which clearly showed that he was defensively on a level with the best DMs in the league and the fact that he got used farther up front this season also shows that there is more to his game than just physical presence.
He might not be the most elegant player but he sure as hell is an effective player and would add another option to our squad that could make games against very physical sides for us a tad more easy.

Unless Everton have had the same kit for 5 years it's from one season. Lots of assists, passes that set off attacking moves, some good defensive work and examples of his physical prowess. It's not like I'm basing my opinion on him off videos, everytime I've watched Everton he has been fantastic and even when below par he still influences games.
We need at least two midfielders anyway, if he was one of them I wouldn't be disappointed at all - my only worry would be if we played him at CF.

like many have said, id have him here so long as he isnt the main midfield signing. with scholes,fletcher? and possible anderson our central midfield needs some bolstering. having him for some league games could be useful, but certainly in terms if european challenge and the title, we need somebody better.

It's always really difficult here when you're trying to argue anything other than one extreme or the other. I recognise that he's a very capable and multi-faceted player - certainly not a 'battering ram' - and I wouldn't mind us signing him if the price wasn't too high. I just don't think he's a good enough 'true CM' to be our solution in midfield, and I don't think he should ever partner Carrick. But I'd take him as a back-up defensive midfielder, a squad player, and as an option for difficult games where we specifically break from our normal approach.

Well no, I can assure you I didn't take your response to Cristiano_RAFC personally. You made a few posts on Madrid/Dortmund, the Madrid stuff about needing Modric to come in was just bollocks. They played best with a Khedira/Alonso midfield, going on that winning streak early on last season before obviously winning the league.
As I said at the time you clearly don't want Fellaini and are just creating arguments from nothing to try and back that up, even when they have no real basis.
I think he's a good player. Every year we expect these exciting continental talents arriving, but someone unassuming like Fellaini is always more likely. If he was about 2ft shorter and had a different head, less people would be against the idea.
They're the reasons he is good for a midtable team. Lack of intelligence, technique, pace, passing and discipline are why he isn't good for a top4 outfit.

Watched that video as well. What can I say. He does look quite clumsy and a bit sluggish. But he's effective for sure. His footwork is better than people give him credit for and with his physical presence he'll be a handful for anyone. He just finds a way to score or assist goals when he get's anywhere near the box. Ridiculous hair though.
I wouldn't say I'd have him at the top of our transfer list. We can aim higher.
