Singha is a great beer..

(Obligatory comment about Thiago starting.)

Will be good to have games on again, it feels like it has been ages since the last one. Hopefully once the football's start being kicked around again, we will have something else to focus on other than the transfer muppets.

Looking forward to this more than a pre season game ever I think. It's just because it's the start of a new era for the club so I hope to see a decent performance with a lot of the closing down and pressing work that we associate as the best parts of Moyes Everton with all the attacking flare of United.

I'm guessing MUTV which means I'll be able to find a stream.

Impossible to even hazard a guess but I think he'll want to have a look at a fairly strong team in his first game to get a look at what he has to work with.

Absolutely no idea what Moyes will do, but this is the sort of thing I'd like to see:

Lindegaard
Rafael Jones Evans Evra
Carrick Cleverley
Januzaj Rooney Zaha
Welbeck

Very nice lineup. Would be also good to check if Fabio still remember what is like to be United player.

This will be confirmed tomorrow when the players fly off to Thailand, but thought we could have a place to predict and then compare in the meantime before posting the news in here tomorrow. The most likely would seem to be:

GOALKEEPERS: Anders Lindegaard, Ben Amos
DEFENDERS: Rafael, Patrice Evra, Phil Jones, Rio Ferdinand, Jonny Evans, Nemanja Vidic, Alex Buttner, Fabio, Scott Wootton
MIDFIELDERS: Anderson, Ryan Giggs, Michael Carrick, Tom Cleverley, Nick Powell, Wilfried Zaha, Jesse Lingard, Davide Petrucci, Adnan Januzaj
FORWARDS: Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck, Federico Macheda, Bebe

To join for Australia: David de Gea, Robin van Persie
To join for Japan: Shinji Kagawa

STAYING (injury/rest): Chris Smalling, Javier Hernandez, Nani, Ashley Young

UNKNOWN: Antonio Valencia, Guillermo Varela, Angelo Henriquez, Darren Fletcher

If that's accurate and I'd say it's pretty close, I'll go with something like;

Lindegaard
Rafael Rio Evans Fabio
Carrick Ando
Welbz Clev Zaha
Rooney

I'd go for:

Lindy
Rafael Rio Evans Fabio
Carrick
Cleverley Giggs
Adnan Rooney Zaha
The fans will want to see Giggsy.

Apparently this is the initial squad:
Goalkeepers: Anders Lindegaard, Ben Amos
Defenders: Rafael, Phil Jones, Rio Ferdinand, Jonny Evans, Patrice Evra, Alex Büttner, Fabio, Michael Keane
Midfielders: Michael Carrick, Anderson, Tom Cleverley, Ryan Giggs, Wilfried Zaha, Jesse Lingard, Adnan Januzaj
Strikers: Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck

I'm hyped to see Zaha. Can't wait, think he's got the requirements to succeed here.

Seems like the sort who might relish the atmosphere of a pre-season friendly too - big, enthusiastic crowd, easygoing atmosphere, great stadium, small-fry opponents. Could be a real confidence booster if he can put in a good performance.

Anyone know if there is any channel showing it in the US?

I'd like:
Lindegaard
Rafael---Ferdinand---Evans---Fabio
Carrick
Cleverley---Anderson
Januzaj
Rooney---Welbeck

Return of the diamond; get Fabio some much needed minutes right from the start, and allows Evra to come on later to provide some leadership (along with Giggs) when younger players are being subbed on. Januzaj goes in right from the start, with Cleverley, Rooney and Welbeck to support him with their workrate if nothing else. Anderson needs to play as much as possible to get his weight down :p I think Zaha had some injury issues during the U21s, so maybe start him with a sub appearance. I'd also like Keane to get a good 30 minutes for Rio at some stage.

That's a nice side but only Junazuj as anyone out of the ordinary would be a surprise. Unless Zaha is fecked I think he's got to start. The only big signing on the year so far and everyone is desperate to see him.

Lindegaard
Rafael Ferdinand Evans Evra
Zaha Carrick Cleverley Giggs
Rooney Welbeck
We'll obviously make loads of changes and I'm sure Januzaj will get his chance, as will the others.

We have really lost a huge ambassadeur in SAF. It's not exactly mr dry balls Moyes that the king of Thailand wants to meet.

I don't follow a lot of people but I've never seen the little video clips with sound before on autoplay. Really nice.

Just been to the page and seen what you mean, my bad. Very cool. Best of all, it means we won't have to negotiate the massive clusterfeck that is the official website to get access to these tiny bits of footage like we used to.

Only once in a blue moon do I go onto the United website. It's a disaster.
