Singha All Stars vs Manchester United

Moyes can't take all the blame for this disaster of a start. You should give him time before doubts start creeping in to your heads.

Zaha will have a good first season with us IMO. He's got all the tools to make an impact.

Hes also not a lone striker , and I don't think he ever will be. We will struggle on this tour until Chica and VP turn up, unless he plays danny and zaha in a front two.

We can play Phil Neville as a striker and likely he'll do a better job than Welbeck did today.

What about if Chelsea thrash this lot 6-0? Does this mean we are doomed? Does it mean we should have got Mourinho? There are so many questions that need answering after that performance.......

No. Chelsea always do that in pre-season. Means nothing.

1st game of pre season, under new management, with wicked jetlag and sapping humid heat with half a dozen key first team players not available VS a team who have trained for this for months, playing in home conditions.

Some perspective please.

Some pleasing individual displays there. Bit of a mismatched formation to get everyone a game, but some pleasing stuff. Adnan especially shone, and the fact he got the whole game I think is very promising. He plays so well between both boxes, so good on the ball, great movement, tracks back and gets stuck in. Big effort in what looked like sweltering heat. Lingard looks confident too. Good at moving the ball forward so directly. Zaha's chance was wonderful. It was pretty much a David Villa type effort. Shift the ball half a yard quickly and ping it across goal. Shame it didn't go in, but he looked useful and again, confident. Fabio had a top game too. Not bad for a first run out this season with so many key players missing.

the only things I've taken from the game is what we already knew. Our midfield is awful, and Welbeck needs to improve his composure in the box.

Agreed. I was not expecting too much for those reason. We had one striker who cannot score goals. When RVP and Kagawa join up it will help. Still not too sure about Clev.

The kids were the most promising thing about this performance.

We were ropey but to be expected. Adnan and Fabio had great games, Lingard put in a decent performance and Zaha just did what i expected him to do after following him last season, another great performance. Looking good for some of them breaking into the first team squad this season.

we do need an extra classy body in midfield, thats also for sure.

Maybe Moyes likes the look of the of these young Thai boys :nervous:

Nah. You're forgetting about Januzaj, Zaha and Lindgard and how they handled themselves. They are a bit new to this (we've seen Lindgard on tour before but he's another year older) but the rest was business as usual in pre-season. No different than in S-Africa last season when we drew. Difference is Amos didn't save their goal like he should.

But but but.... Every set of players that aren't from Europe or South America are completely useless!! Didn't you know?

You're right. Singha All Stars are a decent side. A 1-0 defeat (away as well) to them is a no disgrace under Moyes.

In fact when Chelsea play them in a few days, I hope their players will be knacked from todays game so they won't put 4 past us.

Thought the young ones did well. Thought Tom should have shown more as his place in the side is not guaranteed. It's just the first game though, so early days.

You know you have midfield issues when Singha All-Stars!! seem to waltz straight through it.

Yawn.

Like anyone gives a crap about pre season tour games.
