Well, Coentrao would be a star for Spurs and he could be used at left back (much better than Assou Ekotto) or left midfield while di Maria is nearly as good as Bale and would be an adequate replacement. Coentrao is worth around €20m and di Maria would cost €30m+ on an open market so this deal would be worth over €100m - of course Spurs should take it. They'd be much stronger with Paulinho, Coentrao, di Maria and Soldado than Bale.

I still don't get how such a huge club can make so many stupid decisions. It still hasn't hit me, buying Bale when you have Ronaldo is pointless.
Technically Bale can start on the right wing. So in my opinion they are just strengthening. And they have always known to do this Madrid. they buy to make up for a shitty season and they spend huge, inflated sums to get their targets. They dont care about the money. They always seem to have it.
I've got nothing in particular against Bale. Nor anything against Ronaldo. But if Real indulge themselves like this, at that price, then feck it - I hope they fail as miserably as they possibly can: Big bust-up between Bale and Ronnie, dressing room poisoned, both go on strike, neither of them scores a single goal next season. What I can't understand is if Bale is as good as Ronaldo why is the offer for him much lower than what United got for Ronaldo. What's the reasoning behind how much is offered for a certain player.

First, Bale is nowhere near as good as Ronaldo. Second, according to the rumours Real Madrid offered a world record fee of a 100 million euros for him, more than what they paid for Ronaldo.

Well, he ain't. Not in my book. The one is one of the best players in the world at the moment. The other was the best player in the world at the time. The one can go on to be even better, which would make him nothing short of a spectacularly good player. The other, however, already is a spectacularly good player - and an insane goal scorer at that. Can Bale become a player who bangs in fifty goals a season? I don't quite see that. Ronaldo is special. He and Messi will get their very own chapter in the history books. Bale, for me, is a more "normal" talent, which is no slight on him. Iniesta is a more "normal" talent too, to put it in perspective.
Honestly, these "experts" are mind-boggling. Just a quick look at fecking Wikipedia would tell him that Ronaldo scored 201 goals in 199 games for Real Madrid. Bale is good but he's not quite at that level...

I would say that Bale still isn't on the level of Ribery and I doubt that he'll ever be close to Ronaldo's level. But yeah, Sky pundits, if a good player is British and is playing on EPL he's the bestest thing to ever exist.
