Swansea City vs. Manchester United

This part I agree with. If Kagawa was fit I'd want him in ahead of Giggs regardless of the latter having played more in pre-season. But unlike a few on here I can understand Moyes not wanting to start Januzaj in such an important match. Giggs will feel like a safer pair of hands to him. Whether or not that's actually the case is something we'll know by the final whistle.

Oh yeah I want Kagawa to play, same with Nani when they're fit, fully agree. Januzaj is interesting, early days yet, but really think atm that unless we get injuries that work out well for us we might have a few too many attacking players. If we assume RVP is pretty much gonna play 90% of the time then, got valencia, nani, young, zaha, januzaj, kagawa, welbeck, rooney and hernandez all really competing for 3 spots.

Giggs will come up with some piece of quality and have all the doubters sitting on their spectacles. Once again.

Yeah, I gave up getting pissed off the Giggs was in the starting line ups 2 years ago because every time I moaned he popped up with something brilliant. Now I think we have to just enjoy Having him in the team before he's gone.

Do you not think he is good enough? What are you so worried about if he plays?

I do think he's good enough, I've said in his thread that I can see him getting upwards of 15 appearances this season. But I didn't expect Moyes to start him in an away match for his first competitive united game (Moyes).

There's nothing wrong with people wanting to see someone like Kagawa in the team over Giggs. Perhaps it makes sense that he starts this one, but for the long term the less he plays the better for us. There has to be a point where he hands over the reigns, he can't go on forever.

Anyway, fecking win or I'm off.

I have no problem with Giggs playing. Great player and is still contributing.

Well at least it's not two oldies in midfield like last season.

Maybe of scholes hadn't retired their would be :)

Because it's Moyes' first proper game in charge. If we lose and Januzaj sucks, he will get lambasted. He's keeping it safe, both for the players and himself.

He'll probably get lambasted if we lose anyway. I'm not saying he should have started but I do think it's unfair that he plays so well in pre season and doesn't get a look in for the first game. Valencia did nothing last season and it seemed a great opportunity for him as Young and Nani are both injured. When they come back he'll have even less opportunity.

There's a difference between when Scholes/Giggs were picked in the past when others were fit and the opposition didn't seem to make sense for them to play but when we've got injuries and players lacking sharpness I honestly don't see the problem with Giggs playing.

Yeah I don't have any issues with his inclusion. I forgot about kagawa's rustyness which was evident in preseason. But the thing is that we have two very tough games after this so are we going to go with Giggs for all of them? I mean gametime is the only way kagawa can get into top form anyway.

A draw would be a decent point, it's a hard place to visit and without Rafael, Kagawa, Nani and Rooney we are missing a lot of attacking potential.

very good team selection and bench. Moyes is right not to put pressure on himself and young players at the start of the season.

Indeed. Losing the first game of the season with kids in the team, might make Alan Hanson come out and make a statement. ;)

I'd take a point. That would be an improvement on last season's opening day fixture (not for Moyes, obviously).

Two of those four are on the bench, they'll probably end up on the pitch at some point.

Fabio is there too so it's basically 3 of the 4 on the bench. We have more then enough quality on the bench to change the game if things aren't going well.

Noe of this "I'll take a draw" crap. I think we need a win after looking at our opening fixtures. It's a must that we get off to a good start IMO.
