Liverpool

Liverpool still hasn't beaten any one in the top 4 yet. Let me know when they score 2 whole goals in a Premier League match.

At this rate, we'll struggle to beat anyone above us in the league.

There is a certain harmony to lining it up though:

1-0 [Sturridge 4']
0-1 [Sturridge 21']
1-0 [Sturridge 37']

Of course it is silly to judge anyone at this stage.

Be surprised if Liverpool don't improve from last season. And I would be surprised if you finish top 4.

Basically this. I think they have a very good first 11 but the squad is pretty weak. I think Rodgers is a really good manager too. Will be 6th for me unless one of the big clubs have disasters.

No he hasn't. He's looked awful in all three games.

Not true. He played really well in the opener. Faded as the 2nd half wore on and the game became more difficult though.

What are your next two games?

Swansea away and Southampton at home.

He did well against Stoke I thought too, bit average since but far too early to judge just yet.
Didn't get chance to play with Sturridge in pre-season because he was injured.
So little time for any sort of partnership to develop.

Ilori reminds me of Ivan Cordoba, although obviously not as seasoned as when I saw him. Think he could be a good player though.

Sounds like a good buy. Looking forward to seeing him play.

Cheers. Swansea away is always a tough trip, but Southampton home is pretty easy in fairness. You could get 6 points out of the next two games (with a hard fought game in Wales), I think it's better to play Swansea early on, as they don't really seem to be rolling yet. Depends how you set up really, but you seem to be pretty conservative so I'd say that's a good gameplan against them. Getting 6 points over the next two doesn't seem impossible in any case, and would make for an excellent beginning to the season.

Fair comments, I actually think Southampton will do quite well this season, but yes we have to look to be beating them at home.
Swansea yes is always tough, the game against United I thought was quite even until the first goal.

I am hoping overall we won't be that conservative, it's a bad habit we have to just sit back a little when going 1 up, United have proved countless times you just cannot do that.

So far it has been a great start, but it would crazy getting carried away.

Yes, hence why I was able to deduce that he was crap. In all three games. First touch of a farmyard animal.

Oh right. I'll have to bow to your judgement because I didnt watch Liverpool vs Villa.

If we can maintain our defensive resilience from the first three games, I am fairly confident we'll take the 6 points. There is goals in this team.

Had to reinforce the equipment for one of the new signings strength screening today.....#powerhouse #sakho

Reminds me of Richards in the sense he's a physical beast that was hyped for years but didn't live up to the billing. Though I think he has plenty of time to still fulfil his potential at Liverpool, and I think he will form a good partnership with Agger who can play off Sakho's physicality.

It would seem logical for that to be the first choice partnership, but I think Sakho is also left sided, so the balance may not be quite right.
Be interesting to see what happens especially as Skrtel has stayed and played ok at the weekend, it could be Toure & Ilori could double up their role as a defensive midfielder maybe.

They have improved, but there are still 5 better teams in the league and Liverpool will very likely finish below all of them. Moving in the right direction though.

He's slow as all feck, whenever I have seen him anyway.
Jesus fair play to you. You watch a lot of PSG and Liverpool. Surprised you get a chance to watch united play!

Well French league was on Eurosport at the start of last season in Aus. I started to watch some games at the start but they had draws in their first 5 games or something. He looked pretty slow.

It's hard to watch United at times but I only missed three games last year and that was after we'd won the title. Games at on at 2-6am and on weeknights makes it hard to juggle work.

Liverpool have now managed to assemble a first eleven which are all admirably capable of behaving like total cnuts on the football field, be it all of Suarez's antics, your defence line trying to hurt players or get players sent off by simulating things that didn't happen, your new yong exciting continental players all excellent at waving imaginary cards, or Sturridge who scored a great goal and preceded to dive like feck every time the ball went near him for the rest of the game. Lucas and Gerrard who also spend more time trying to get in the refs ears than playing football.

Honestly you're a team that are so easy to hate. Complete Travellers who play the game totally the wrong way. If this new style is Rodgers lasting one then the nice football we see tiny glimpses off now and seen a lot of at Swansea will be overshadowed.

Nah, just thought you were horrible. Tried every little tactic in the book and played like a small time side sitting back defending a goal lead at home for pretty much 90 minutes.

Its cute the way so many Liverpool fans are back posting. Last year they were all gone after the first game.

We had a 1-0 lead and gave you no chances. Thats not small time. Chelsea were small time by being afraid to start Mata a week earlier. We deserved the win . What's small time is the moaning.
It's most unlike united fans in the past. None of us are claiming to be title contenders, just that you lot didn't take your chances like you usually do. Whether it's the players doubting themselves or moyes horrible record at Anfield is up for debate

Liverpool haven't particularly impressed me. Beat Villa by a goal with their only shot on target and did the same to us. Then again no one has really stood out hence why I don't get the Moyes stick from opposition fans when their clubs don't look anything special.
